For some reason, the lock on our bedroom door doesn't work or I should say, doesn't hold. We can push the button to lock the door and it will lock but the kids figured out that for some reason, if you jiggle the handle while it's locked, it'll unlock/open the door, which is not good. I talked to the Mrs about replacing the handle but she wants to replace all of the bedroom and bathroom handles to match and because things get discontinued alot, she wants to order them all at the same time so we don't run into the issue of it being discontinued if we ordered and replaced them one at a time. Because ordering 5 sets of nice, matching door knobs/handles can be kind of expensive, I had to look for other options for the time being. After looking at all sorts of different things, I found this and was intrigued enough to order it and see if it works. To my surprise, it works really well. It takes a couple of times of "installing" it to get the hang of it and over the awkwardness of holding the metal piece in place while closing the door but it's worth dealing with that little bit of awkwardness rather than the really, life scaring awkwardness of thinking our door is locked only to have one of our kids walk in at the worst possible time and being unable to unsee things they encounter. Now, whenever we need some privacy, we put this on our door and don't have to worry about anything as I've tried opening the door once it's in place and couldn't. Now, to be clear I'm not saying it would hold up to a burglar or someone who is really intent on getting through the door or anything as I've not tried kicking our door down just to test it but I am saying that it will keep out little pests who don't have the decentcy of knocking on the door and waiting for a response and instead just barge in any room, including the bathroom, even though we've taught and raised them better.

This small gadget is fantastic. Easy to install (no tools needed) and provides more security and protection than adding another lock to the door. There is no way that anyone would be able to force their way in the door with this item in place. We have them on the doors which we don't use regularly and can easily be removed on the doors we use regularly (put on at night, disengage during the day, it's that easy).

I travel a lot and recently I had an issue with my hotel door. Long story short, the batteries in the lock were dead but they key acted like it was working, the light would change when I waved they key. Little did I know the door opened with or without they key. Now that I have this product I won't have to worry about if the door is really locked.

While this is a grand product in it's on right, you are honestly just better off with just paying to have a lock installed on your door. It is extremely helpful as a secure lock for if I want to stay safe inside, but if I want to prevent anybody (including my pet) from entering my room while I am gone, it is not very useful. Hopefully, somebody (or this company in particular) can think of a product that is universal for both locking/being secure inside and outside.

I like it because it is very easy to install and once in place you cannot the door can not be opened from outside . Easy to take with you in carry on luggage. A great way to feel safe in airbnbs and hotels

Works great, but is not compatible with every door type. I still recommend, but if you are traveling somewhere and you do not know what type of door you will have, maybe have a plan B

It effectively provides additional protection in locking your door; however, it's a bit difficult to get in place and the medal part bends and is impossible to bend back which adds to the difficulty of installing.

The media could not be loaded.  I like that it's so easy to use. It did take me a couple minutes to figure it out and I almost returned it because I thought it didn't fit my door. But I was trying to place it on the door instead of on the Wall Part. I also like I can use it for my bedroom or bathroom and keep the kids out for a bit if I need to
