A Thoughtful and Refreshing Guide to Overcoming Emotional Struggles
"You're Too Good to Feel This Bad" by Andrea M. Schara is a powerful and compassionate guide that tackles the complexities of emotional well-being, offering a blend of practical advice and profound insights. The author, drawing on both personal experience and a deep understanding of human nature, presents a unique perspective on how to break free from negative emotional patterns and live a more fulfilling life. What I love most about this book is its refreshing approach to self-help. Schara doesn’t offer generic advice or quick-fix solutions. Instead, she provides a thoughtful and nuanced perspective that encourages readers to dive deep into their own emotions and life experiences. The idea of being "too good to feel this bad" challenges the notion that emotional struggles are simply a result of personal weakness or failure. Instead, Schara gently reminds us that it's okay to experience negative emotions, but that we don’t have to stay stuck in them. The book combines a mix of orthodox wisdom, including psychological principles and spiritual teachings, with a refreshing sense of honesty and vulnerability. Schara shares practical tools and strategies for cultivating emotional resilience, managing stress, and building a life that aligns with our values. The chapters are filled with actionable steps to help readers reframe their thinking, develop healthier habits, and break free from self-limiting beliefs. One thing that really stood out to me is the accessible tone of the book. It’s not overly academic or preachy—Schara speaks to you like a wise friend offering advice with kindness and empathy. She acknowledges the real challenges of life and provides tangible solutions that don’t feel overwhelming or unattainable. The book is filled with thought-provoking questions and exercises that encourage introspection, making it an engaging and reflective read. This is not a book that promises quick fixes or superficial "happiness" mantras. Rather, it invites you to take a more honest and holistic look at your life, face difficult emotions with courage, and take proactive steps toward creating lasting change. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, negative thought patterns, or simply feeling stuck, You're Too Good to Feel This Bad offers a compassionate roadmap to help you move through those challenges and embrace a more fulfilling life.Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a more balanced, realistic approach to emotional well-being. Schara’s insights are both practical and empowering, and her honest exploration of life’s difficulties offers comfort and hope for those who feel overwhelmed by negative emotions. This book will inspire you to believe that you are good enough to live the life you desire—and that emotional freedom is within your reach.Let me know if you find this helpful, I hope it is! I put a lot of effort in writing these reviews so it would be greatly appreciated!

Like Cliff’s notes for weary “Chronic Achievers”
Picked this up, because I have heard Dallas speak “live”, and was curious to see if his written stuff was as engaging and helpful as his real life presentations. I was not disappointed! He has managed to compile very helpful scientific insights on the little bit essential things, that especially “productive” and “driven” folks, tend to overlook, minimize the importance and impact of, or assume we have already maxed-out in our daily routine. The value of the book is NOT that he has invented anything “new”; it’s that he’s gathered all the best stuff that science not pop psychology has proven actually works in one place, and that he has actually “kicked the tires” on it himself and decided to share it simply as one of us, not as a guru.Every chapter is neatly and briefly organized to deliver both the cutting edge clinical research into the science behind the “why”, and also to deliver very practical ways of “implementing” changes in the separate areas of one’s daily routine that each chapter is dedicated to (like sleep, breaking habits, even the right way to breath!)As well, he ties each chapter together with often amusing, always self-deprecating, anecdotes from his own trial-and-error “self-experimentation” in each area.Highly recommend this valuable and accessible book, especially for - as the title suggests - people whose suspect that their intention to be maximally productive by “red-lining” their lives has already taken a toll on their productivity, creativity, memory, immune system and even satisfaction in their personal relationship, but don’t know why, and certainly don’t know how to change “approach” without giving up their drive. This book is for you.

Life changing
I love this book! From the moment I read the title I knew this was a book for me. This is not your typical self help book but instead a system on analyzing your emotions and how to react to them. What I loved about this book is that it asked a lot of provoking questions that were highly insightful. This book makes you take action and challenges yourself to overcome the obstacles and thoughts you may encounter through life.I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting a better outlook on themselves or in life.It also explains why we feel certain negative emotions at times which is amazing because sometimes it's hard to figure out WHY we are feeling the way we are.If you haven't already GO GET THIS BOOK!It will truly change your world!

Not bad. Not great.
This is one of those self help books that take forever to get to the point. It gives all these stories before actually reaching the conclusion. Not something I would recommend, but also not terrible I guess. Pretty much like every other self help book on the market.
