The best thing invented for hiking since shoes!!
I AM A HUGE FAN OF THESE. I cannot say enough. I want to personally thank the company who makes this product. Let me get to the gist. I wear this product for almost all my hikes. Ice and snow is obvious, but these things work wonders on good old fashioned dirt. Walking up hills or switchbacks or walking back down for that matter have become a breeze. They are extremely durable. I also notice that they do well crossing wet river rock. The spikes have really held up. I also use these on rocky paths and they are good as new after I am done. In short, these MICROspikes are a must, and work on almost all terrain types, and I am very happy to own them. I am 6 foot and 215 pounds. I have worn them on about 10 hikes and counting and they still look brand new. Very high quality materials. They pack very small in a day pack, or you can hang them on the outside of your pack. Let me reiterate, you can wear these and excel on regular dirt trails. I have gotten many compliments on them when I wear them. Also when descending, I have found I no longer need my trekking poles. I use the trekking poles anyway, but my grip to the path is amazing. They are a luxury item but they give you tremendous flexibility in the type of hikes that you can do. They go on easy and come off easier. Just in case you are wondering. Here is a list of the top 5 must have items for most hikes. 1) Good pair of hiking boots. This is the most important piece of equipment you will buy, so choose carefully. 2) Back pack. There are a million to choose from but I personally use a Camelbak 3) Trekking Poles. Dont knock them until you try them. Once you go poles, you cant go back. 4) GPS tracking device - Many advantages to this 5) KAHTOOLA MICROSPIKES!! Happy Trails!

Superb! Bought Again & Again!
I’ve now purchased three pair of these spikes, one for my wife and two for me. And, I’d buy them a fourth time without hesitation. We own 45 acres of forest in Central New York. Our conditions range from dry (drought) to damp to muddy to frosty/icy to (last winter) 22 feet of snow. We’re walking over and on downed tree trunks, branches, and various tree tops and slash - whether they’re wet and slippery or icy and slick. Sometimes just hiking to the work site is a challenge. Frozen ground or just an inch of snow over ice can be a challenge. When the snow is deep we use snowshoes. When the ground is summery-soft we use logging boots. But, for those many, many icy frozen ground days we depend on these spikes. Heck, I even wear these spikes while shoveling my driveway at home. They fit on the boot very solidly and tightly. This makes them a bit challenging to put on properly. I put my wife’s on for her because her hands aren’t strong enough to do it comfortably. For my big, size 11, steel-toe chainsaw boots I use size XL - a size bigger than recommended. They’re still tight out on. But, they’re on rock solid and the minor struggle is well worth it. They’re not going anywhere. These spikes (on your shoes or boots) become an integral part of your foot. They’re super dependable, always there when you’re clawing your way up an icy slope or steadying a log to walk on. These spikes are truly excellent. They’re so well made and the stainless steel resists any rusting even though I just leave them on a mat for the snow and ice to melt. These spikes don’t get babied, they shrug it all off with ease. Buy these again? I have. Recommend to friends? I do repeatedly. I depend on these spikes and they always perform exceptionally. Don’t hesitate.

Awesome just awesome
I had purchased yaktrax. The were cheap and kept coming off my feet. One of the ladies in my hiking group suggested these. They are amazing. I wore them several times already for hiking through the ice and snow. Can’t say enough good things about these. I am a 60 year old female and never felt uneasy on my feet for 5-6 mile hikes up and down hills. They fit over my boots perfectly and never come off. These were worth every penny. I feel very safe wearing them.

Excellent traction
These are game changers if you hike in snow and ice. I have used these a number of times in the past almost-year. They are easy to put on and make walking ice a breeze.

Love These. I have two sets, one larger to fit over my boots.
These work well on ice and snow. If you hike in winter on trails these are outstanding. Once you use them you'll never go without them again. They store in a small sack so you can keep them in your pack until needed. Super easy to install, I've done it standing up. They are fine with ice on rock -- the bare patches don't hurt them. Snow doesn't tend to pack into crevices. These are great.

NO NONSENCE SPIKES THAT GRAB THE ICE
I ordered this set of winter traction Microspikes after trying my husband's spikes during an ice storm in my region. Our deck was covered in a thin layer of ice on top of a couple of inches of snow and Boy!! These grip the terrain! I wanted to replace a frozen bird feeder with a fresh feeder but the old traction spikes just didn't grip deep enough and I didn't feel safe. These required a little muscle power to stretch them over my shoes at first, but once attached, I was able to easily keep both my balance and traction on the deck. I rated them a 4 instead of 5 stars solely based on the need to pull rather hard on the silicone front and back to get them over the top and backsides of my shoes. Once in place, absolutely solid. They were easy to remove and will probably be easier to attach now that they have had their initial stretch onto my shoes. I wear a size 10 women's shoe and purchased the suggested medium size for Women's shoe size 9-12 and feel they are true to size. Will definitely purchase another pair for hiking boots, but go up a size to account for the shoe volume of boots.

Life Savers
I bought these in 2022 (four years ago) and only used them once. Now in the middle of this snow/ice storm they are invaluable and we use them daily. The ice is melting just a tad, then freezes, making it WORSE on a daily basis. We could not have gotten to medical appointments and to a scheduled surgery without these. Invaluable in this weather. These are quality. Don't skimp when it comes to purchasing something like this. ETA: After watching several video reviews on ice cleats, I think I would like to clarify something about my situation. This current ice storm has made impossible conditions for us. We have a farm, gentle rolling hills, and two sheds that have poultry out in those fields. Now, imaging a good amount off snow falling. Beautiful. Then, sleet, then a heavy coat of ice, more snow, low temps that do not let up. The ice coating here, out in the fields, is SO THICK that none of our farm tractors can even make a dent in it. The ice is so smooth it reflects the surroundings almost like a mirror. The tractor makes no impression whatsoever, even for a rather large Kubota tractor, and slides and dovetails. Those are the conditions we have. As elderly adults, we could not get out to the poultry sheds to provide water and food. I had resigned myself to the fact the poultry will die in all of this. Then, I found our cleats in a closet and a guy put them on and offered to hike out to the birds with buckets of water. He made several treks back and forth, wearing these cleats, with no trouble, no slips. Our version was purchased in 2022. This is 2026. Hopefully they are still well-made. The only improvement I'd like to see is an optional velcro strap.

Better than snowshoes
Great spikes, work well in winter Adirondacks on packed down trails and areas with ice climbing. Highly recommend.
