Great for desserts
This is the first double boiler I ever purchased, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I use it all the time to make desserts like chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. It’s a great size, and I’ve had no issues with using it, or cleaning it. Would buy again.

Good not great
A little overpriced for its thin gauge metal made in china. It does the job but a bit flimsy

Just what I Needed
I purchased this, not for use in my kitchen, but for use in my studio in the preparation of rabbit skin glue sizing in the preparation of substrates for oil paintings. I found it to be superb for that purpose.I must say that its stainless steel construction makes it quite ideal for use with my induction cooktop in the kitchen and I'm considering a purchase of a second for dedicated food preparation in my kitchen as well.

Good, sturdy pots.
It reminds me of my Grandmother and cooking with her. I use the double boiler chiefly to make seven-minute icings and to melt chocolate, cheese, and such. The two pans are also good used singly.

Very useful
I've never been much of a cook but circumstances are now such that I am cooking much more. I am glad I finally purchased a double boiler. I can't compare it to other double boilers, but I am very happy with this one. Much easier clean up when heating milk for yogurt, for example!

Worth buying but the bottom pan should be deeper
The bottom pan doesn't hold enough water (or the top pan sits too deep) so there's a chance of boiling the bottom pot try -- especially on an unfamiliar stove. Still: good quality and worth buying; I haven't seen anything better.Tip: it's a great way to cook rice! Boil 2 cups of water in the bottom (covered) while adding rice to the top (using whatever directions are appropriate for your chosen rice). Put on the top pot (covering it), reduce heat to a gentle boil and cook 25-30 minutes (depending on your rice and preference). Turn off the heat. Can serve right away or let sit as needed.
