The pulse feature is a nice addition.
I use my vacuum sealer for many things other than food. I live near the beach. Fine sand blows through the screens. The 1st thing I sealed was my backup computer mouse, to protect it from the fine sand. It was my test to ensure my replacement Ziploc Vacuum Sealer worked properly. I've lost count of how many years I used my 1st Ziploc Vacuum Sealer. I have found that all brands of bags or rolls work well. Except some cheaper versions have one of the inner sides that is smooth, these do not allways seal well.

Spend a little more for the FoodSaver
We have a FoodSaver at our coastal place where we vacuum seal fish and it works pretty well. We wanted a sealer for our primary home so I was glad to see Ziploc coming out with a product to compete with the FoodSaver - which is expensive and the bag cost is outrageous. Comparing the two, these are my first impressions:Pro: The Ziploc is compact and did a good job on the vacuum/seal. Bags are cheaper than FoodSaver, but despite the warnings, any vacuum seal bag will work just fine.Cons: The Ziploc does not have a removeable vacuum tray like the FoodSaver. So liquids collect in the tray and you have to sop them up around two plastic protrusions. Not as sanitary as rinsing the tray out in the sink. And the number one feature I was hoping the Ziploc had (the Foodsaver doesn't either) is a simple device to hold the bag in place while in the vacuum tray. Most of the time consumed vacuum sealing is trying to keep the bag ends in the vacuum tray. Can this really be so difficult for a product designer?> The push and clik to close the cover is pretty weak; you don't really know if it is closed or not - they say to test it. The unit vacuums better if you manually hold down the cover. The FoodSaver has a manual lock for the cover. So by comparison, I would give the Ziploc a solid 3 and the FoodSaver a 4. Overall, if I was buying again I would pay a little more for the FoodSaver because of the removeable tray and the cover locking mechanism. Either one would get a 5 star if they ever figure out how to hold the bag ends in the vacuum tray.

Great for meat! Not so perfect for Green Chiles!
I love this thing. I am a saver and I love that I can buy meat in bulk at discount, and then freeze it in portions that fit my family. Works great for meat, I mean, this is meat storage Utopia as far as I'm concerned. I expected it to be broken by now, and it works like a charm.I am taking away a star only because the hose attachment is clunky and does not work well when I put up chiles in the fall. The green chiles have a lot of juice to them, so it's hard to get the air out without sucking fluid into the sealed part, thus ruining your seal. If they could fix that, I'd be happy as a clam with this, as it is, I use the air pump and bags for my chiles, which is a pain in the buttocks.Over all I still recommend this.

Does an excellent job for a very reasonable price. Don't waste money! This does the trick.
I purchased this after reading the reviews here on Amazon for several different models from different manufacturers after returning a $190.00 fancy version I picked up at Costco. I returned it unopened after thinking that I had spent too much. Still needing (more wanting) one I came back here, read the reviews, and bought this model. I also purchased 11" X 16" and 8" X 12" pre-cut pouches since they are cheaper (to me) than by roll. Try measuring per foot vs. pre-cut by length and compare prices and you will probably come to the same conclusion. The first few attempts using the vacuum sealer were hit and miss so I figured the machine was not so great. It would sometimes vacuum excellently and then at some times the vacuum half arsed. The seal has always been perfect. It turns out that the problem was me. I realized I needed to make sure the vacuum nozzle was inside the lips of the bag before doing the seal. Apparently on my misses the nozzle ended up slipping out from between the lips of the bag. I am amazed at the vacuum that this model generates when it is used properly. I have not tried the bottle vacuum attachment since we have no need for that. A very good vacuum is created and the sealer works properly. I have had no problems with this other than user error and am very happy with this purchase. I'm also glad I got the large and medium sized bags in lots of 100. I found that I got more pre-sealed bags for my buck than I could by any roll. I am also able to make smaller pouches by subdividing the individual pouches.Back to the rating...for the price and after knowing how well this operates I do not hesitate to recommend this unit. Why pay 2 to 4 times more for something that does the same, or maybe even worse than this inexpensive but fully capable vacuum sealer.

Great replacement for Foodsaver
My trusty Foodsaver sealer died. For the most part, I make a few seals a month but used the accessory port often to vacuum seal containers and bottles. This unit was inexpensive and has the same features as my old Foodsaver. So far, it has proved to be a worthy successor--especially since many Foodsaver models have gone up in price.Features:1-Bag sealing. For the rolls, I keep these in a drawer and cut them to size with a scissors. You then make an instant seal on one end. Nothing new here. I don't mind not having a separate storage area for the roll or a cutter built in since I don't do it very often.2-Accessory port. All of my accessories are Foodsavers. The port is a little smaller on these. What I did was cut the Ziploc accessory hose in have. I can then attach the cut end to the Foodsaver accessory hose.3-Manual vacuum. This feature is way neat and something not found on my old Foodsaver. You can press it to get the right amount of vacuum--sometimes too much draws all the liquid out of your food. This button allows you to control the amount of vacuum. Just press down until you get the desired vacuum and then press instant seal. After you let go of the button, the vacuum does not release (but does stop sucking) until a few seconds have passed--plenty of time for you to decide if you want to suck some more or press the seal button. Definitely a worthwhile feature.edit:. still works great 4 years later. i use it with Foodsaver genuine containers... great!

Unfit for India
Item was not working satisfactorily. It used to vaccum but failed to seal. As a result air came back to the bag. After sales nobody helped to understand its working. Bad buy.

Equipo descompuesto
Me llegó el producto y la caja venía golpeada y sin sellos, al abrir el equipo todo se veía bien pero al conectar el equipo hacía un ruido extraño como si estuviera en funcionamiento y nunca se detuvo. Es como si estuviera directo a la corriente.
