Tree: A Peek-Through Picture Book

My four month old was actually interested in this book! The illustrations are bright and beautiful. The cut outs in the board are really clever. The story is nice… this book is now on our favorites list!

Okay, I haven’t read a lot of books for small children but of the ones I’ve read this is the best. The thing about books for little kids is that 𝑦𝑜𝑢 have to read it, not the kid. I don’t like kids’ books that are bizarrely random and I don’t like kids’ books that are insulting to the intelligence of both the adult and the child alike. This book is excellent. The pace is perfect, the illustration is wonderful and the book takes you through a year of the life of a tree in the forest. As the seasons change so too does the perspective of the tree, those who visit it and the tree’s surroundings. All of the Britta Teckentrup books tie together, my kid always points to Owl in the other books and says “Owl!” when he sees him in the other books but the tree one is the one he likes the best and so do I. We do enjoy the other books in the series of course and I appreciate the author’s love of nature and I want my kid to love nature too. We love this book so much that I bought it twice because my three year old destroyed the first one. That’s tough love, man. Just think of how many trees made the noble sacrifice to make this book.

We Love the changing of the seasons and especially how Owl peeks back in at the end!

My baby absolutely loves this book. We've been reading it to her since she was 2 months old, and she's slowly become more and more engaged with the different features of the book. At 10.5 months old she can now point to the different creatures and likes to poke her finger through the holes as we turn the page. We adore this book so much that when we realized we lost it on the plane, we quickly ordered another. We also purchased Teckentrup's other book, "Moon", hoping to have another favorite, but she hasn't taken to that one as much. (the coloration of "Moon" is more subtle and dark, so that might be why)

Great book! This one has rhyming, some great vocabulary and beautiful illustrations. It takes you through the seasons and how the tree changes and helps the animals. Grab this one!

We bought this as a present for our young granddaughter. She loves it and the ability to peep through several pages is a winner. just the thing to get a child hooked on books !

This book is wonderful! It is the second time I bought it! It shows the seasons in a tree, and the illustration and colors are beautiful!

Can't say enough about this book and all others creations of Britta Teckentrup. Definitely worth having. Great present for any child older that 18 months. This will be a book that they go back reading again and again and as the grow they start learning more about the facts it tries to teach. But the book is so attractive and beautiful that can take attention of any kid no matter at which age they are.
