Usable.
Does what it claims.Simple & effective. One could maybe design a more effective design but not as simple and robust as this.Kind of expensive, but well worth it.Recommended.Update: Im lowering rating from 5 to 3 stars as it gets harder and harder to reliably put it on. Now it requires quite a lot of fiddling to put it on. I can't put it on without looking at it - which for a big lens with a big hood is a little uncomfortable. Reliability degrades over time. One of the handle nuts broke. Overall it's a pain to use but I still need it, because there's nothing else I can use instead.

Great protection for your front element.
I bought a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 super prime, and they do not come with a lens cap. I am always very careful on how I handle and transport my equipment. Even though, I will probably never be in the position where something will directly strike my lens head on when I am transporting it, why take the chance. That is why I purchased the Don Zeck N10 Lens cap. It fits on the lens tightly and works great. They also give you extra grommets for a custom fit to your lens. I highly recommend this lens cover, if anything but for piece on mind that the front element is protected.

My glass is protected!
I recently got a Nikon 200mm f2 lens. This lens originally comes with a soft sleeve-like cover. Although I'm sure this cover provides adequate protection, it's a bit of a pain to get off, especially if you leave the front hood on as I do. The Nikon 200 mm f2 has a lot of front exposed glass, and having that much glass exposed on such a pricey lens just makes me uncomfortable. That's why I bought this lens cap. The lens cap fits nice and snug. The plastic it's made from is heavy-duty. In looking at the product you can tell it's not something mass-produced, however, it doesn't look thrown together in a basement workshop kind of way. Overall, fit, finish, and function are all top notch.

Love it
Not sure why the suits at Nikon did not think of having a lens cap but this one fits like a charm on my 200 f/2. On that pricey a lens , heck on any lens I wouldnt feel comfortable leaving it in a bag and thinking its enough. I don't need the added stress of worrying of scratching my lens and this takes care of it. Well built and wonderful through and through. Must buy if you are getting one of the lenses it is indicated for

Great idea but...
Unable to fit into my lens. Call the owner and he is very helpful. I have a little worried on the way it attached to my. Once it scratched then my expensive lens is well done. Therefore, I end up returning. I would use it if I have a protection lens over my .

Poor fit and expensive.
Unfortunately it appears to be the only lense cover available for my Nikon 300mm f2.8 VRII lense. Fit is not great and quite expensive (maybe due to its complicated machined design).

Not a good fit
Not a great fit for the Nikon 200 f2. It doesn’t sit flush.

I use it on a Nikon 300mm f2. 8 ...
I use it on a Nikon 300mm f2.8. It is a lot easier to use than the lens cover that comes with the camera. It will keep the rain off the lens. I live in the Pacific Northwest and use it all year round.
