Finally! A sturdy pencil with really dark lead. I love it!

I love to do the newspaper crossword puzzles, but it is hard for me to see when I use regular pencils. These pencils really are darker than standard pencils. They sharpen well and the marks erase fairly easily. For people with poor vision, small changes can make a huge difference in quality of life. It is a little dramatic to say that a pencil has changed my life. But this pencil makes an activity that was becoming too hard much more enjoyable again.

These were exactly what I needed! I am very happy with the pencils .. they write darker than the one I'd been using and now I can see what I've wriiten with my failing eyesight.

Great product

I have always liked the Ticonderoga brand of #2 pencils because the lead image seems to be a bit darker than other brands but even they are a bit hard to see when doing the newspaper crossword puzzle (on newsprint). I spotted these pencils on Amazon simply by accident and a package was not expensive so I decided to give them a try. I did a newspaper crossword as soon as they arrived and they DO show up significantly darker on newsprint. The only negative is that they seem to be a soft lead that has to be sharpened more often but I am still giving them five stars. Recommended.

So at first I was like, how much difference can the type of pencil make, well I learned something. I like these pencils, they are smooth to write with, darker print, comes with a pencil sharpener and it does make a difference. I have one in every room and one on my fridge in a magnet holder next to the grocery list. Glad I decided to try it.

Bought these because they remind me of Stephen King’s The Dark Half.
