Wonderart Butterfly Moon Latch Hook Kit, 15" X 20"

I loved the design &colors. The one thing that really stumped me was the colors of the blue yarns. There are supposed to be 3 different shades. However, after looking very carefully, I was only able to distinguish 2 shades. I went back and looked at others reviws and quickly realized it was a common problem. I think it would be most helpful if the colors were separated in packaging as opposed to being "swirled" together.It was a very enjoyable project that turned out beautiful tho. I had another shade of blue, left from a previous latch hook I had done. I substituted some of those pieces in this one and really made it beautiful!

Some of the items missing

I made a latch hook rug 40 years ago and the pieces of yarn were longer then! This yarn is 2 1/2 inches long and I find it rather difficult to deal with. The kit I did 40 years had yarn at least an inch longer which did make a rather shaggy rug. The latch hook I bought is difficult to getthrough the squares. So it's hard on my hands which have some arthritis. I don't mind the charted pattern rather than it being printed on the canvas. I chose a fairly easy pattern but I also really like the pattern. Since I just started it today I don't know if I will run out of yarn like some reviewers but I hope not.

I did like making it, but I looked at the names of the color of yarn instead of the amount given for the colors. So I ran out of a blue and had to many of another. Had to start mixing up the colors. Still came out looking ok, but this was my first one and wish I had of know this ahead of starting.

Review that i read said that the image was printed on the canvas. It isn't...very challenging to do without. Your constantly counting and with crappy eye sight it is hard....

The yarn is very thin the others I worked on but it looks fine so far. update it took me about a week, worked on it for 2-3 hours a night.

I'm leaving this review before completing the rug, I'll update if/when I get it done with a photo. That being said the yarn included is HORRIBLE! It's stiff and just feels really cheap and abrasive. The mat is not printed so you will have to count to do the pattern. The dimensions of the mat also do not match the instructions and is very stiff and hard to work with. If it at least comes out pretty that will be something but at the moment I recommend giving this one a pass. There are better kits that don't feel like steel wool.
