WITH The Black Island AND King Ottokar's Sceptre

Bought this for my 7 year old grandson who is enjoying it immensely.Only problem is...there are several more in the collection!

livre anglophone relié rigide moyen format ancien (1990) 2ème tome d'une collection reprenant trois des célèbres aventures de Tintin, dans ce cas l'oreille cassée (n°6), l'île noire (n°7) et le sceptre d'Otokar (n°8); attention une collection plus récente dans un format proche mais chez un autre éditeur (Egmont) utilise une numérotation décalée et dans ce cas, ce volume correspond au tome 3; la langue anglaise est facilement accessible et même les anglophobes les plus réticents seront aidés grandement par l'image; il faut juste s'accoutumer aux traductions des jurons du capitaine Haddock!; les images sont plus petites que dans les versions originales, c'est un peu gênant au début puis on finit par s'y habituer au fur et à mesure qu'on se laisse porter par ces histoire si bien ficelées par Hergé; un bon moyen d'accéder à Tintin à un prix plus mesuré que les grands albums reliés classiques prisés par les collectionneurs de BD mais hors de prix même en seconde main; cette édition ne se trouve plus qu'en occasion à des prix parfois vraiment intéressants (mais attention alors à l'état d'usure de l'ouvrage: privilégiez les vendeurs bien notés; dans ce cas précis l'ouvrage était très usagé, contrairement à d'autres fois)

Too small, difficult to read.

Much encouraged by my purchase of Vol1, I decided to collect the others in the same series.Here's the amazon link to Vol1 I am referring to:http://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Tintin-America-Pharaoh-Complete/dp/0316359408/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304314437&sr=8-1This one and other volumes of the same series are very different from Vol1.Vol1 is printed in Spain, the others including this one is printed in China. This is not a factor that would discourage me alone and I only found this after I was surprised by the differences below.Vol1 is bigger in both height and width than Vol2, about 0.5 inches at least. The pictures is Vol1 one are bigger, the font is bigger and bolder which makes all the difference.The size of the Vol2 (and the rest in the series) although small by just a little makes all the difference between just small and unreadable small. I just could not concentrate on the tiny pictures and the font on this one. Its like going down on the eye chart, one small size you can read alright and the next smaller one you can't make out.Returning these and will probably return the first vol too as now I can't complete the set.There is a lot of conflicting reviews on these series regarding the size and I will not be surprised if at some point different prints were shipped and is the basis for at least some of the confusions if not all.My advice if you haven't bought it don't !!
