Was I the last person to know there was such a thing as a display port? Maybe so. After noticing 2 of them on my PC Video card and trying to figure out how to connect 2 monitors with 1 HDMI port, i did some research. Well apparently they are offer quality connection advantages over HDMI. That being said, i don't carry a bunch of long display port cables. I do have a plethora of HDMI cables though. Snap on this adapter cable and now i have options. The cable works fine and appears to be of a high quality (not to puff it up too much.. it is just a cable). The price seemed a bit high but not high enough to really complain about.

I have a display port graphics card and have to use an adapter for my VGA monitor and my plasma TV. The other night the TV went out suddenly. I systematically went through the connections to the HDMI TVs (the main VGA monitor still worked). Figured it had to be the display port to HDMI adapter. The two adapters were a bit wide and pushed against each other. I guess it damaged the HDMI adapter. i bought this one which uses a smaller connection with a short cord to the HDMI interface. And voila', the HDMI TV comes back on. This adapter with the short cord doesn't crowd the plug-ins. Hey, I'm happy.

This will not work with QHD, widescreen, or 4k displays. For 1920x1080, it snaps in place perfectly. It's a standard, locking DP port, and the release button is easy to use. The cable is just the right flexibility, and the HDMI socket grips well without being difficult. There is no noticeable lag in the image, and overall works fine. Cost is reasonable. Availability is good. I didn't see the 1080p limit when I ordered it, but I might have missed that.

I originally bought a 25' DP -> HDMI cable so I can get up my PC hooked up to the TV. Well, that cable didn't work & had to return it. Not sure what was wrong, but I'm thinking I couldn't get a secure connection on the DP end from the PC. I think the support bracket for the video card got in the way. I didn't want to go through the hassle of buying another cable that doesn't fit/work , so I went the converter route & what can I say, it works PERFECTLY. EDIT: I bought this by mistake. I need 1 with 4k support which this does not support. However, I'll not take out a star for a mistake I made.

This DP to HDMI adapter works perfectly. I wasn't asking for much when I purchased this, other than it converting DP to HDMI and it does that perfectly. It displays any resolution I want that the monitor is capable of and provides a clear picture without any shuttering, tearing, lag, et c. I use a headset and the monitor doesn't have a speaker, so I didn't check the audio transferring capabilities. The only thing I can caution is to not just try to pull the adapter out of your computer/GPU like I did. I didn't realize that it came with a clip, so I tugged a little bit too hard when I should have been more careful. Make sure to release the adapter before removing it. A really great product and when I inevitably upgrade one or both of my VGA monitors to HDMI ones, I'll buy more of this adapter for them.

my video cards (EVGA 1080Ti and now EVGA 2080Ti) have only one HDMI out and 3 DP out connections. As my TV and sound bar are HDMI connections only, the adapter was needed. Going from my computer to the Bose soundbar then into the TV resulted in a maximum of 30hz so i needed two HDMI cables so i could have 1 cable for the TV (and 60hz) and one for the soundbar. This also gives me the option of listening to music while reading content on the web and much better audio when watching movies etc versus the TV speakers. Tough to say an item is priced well when it is needed or your system will not work as desired, but the adapter cost was minimal and the video and audio content are top notch. there are multiple "standards" of HDMI cables out now. so be sure to spend a couple extra dollars for the 18gps and higher versions (4k and 8k possible). READ THE FINE PRINT before buying your HDMI cables. My last three Amazon purchases all took about two weeks to arrive due to (I'm guessing) fewer people working. I do not blame AT ALL those who stayed home. I have not been going out either. It really feels similar to Upton Sinclairs book The Jungle. Go to work and literally die or not work and starve (and die).
