Great brush, improved design over my old Sonicare...very satisfied
My last Sonicare toothbrush lasted me 11 years until the battery wouldn't get through a single brushing, so I replaced it with this one. My last one cost around $100 eleven years ago, and this one was around $40 today. The new one has all the features the old one had, and also has the newer-style attachment for the brush. This design has eliminated the conical threaded "hood" that screws down to hold the brush onto the motor/battery unit. That hood trapped gunk underneath it that got pretty gross over time and was not easy to clean out. That problem is gone with this unit, since there is nowhere for crud to build up and when needed, cleaning between the handle unit and the brush will take 5 seconds. It vibrates the brush just as fast as the old one, too. The blue portion of the outside is a rubbery material that gives great grip, and the smoother white parts don't slip either, even when wet My only complaint with this unit is that there is no cord storage inside the charger base like the old one, but I knew that going in. The charger itself I like better because it's simpler; it's just a flat pedestal with an upright pin that fits into the bottom of the motor/battery unit. It's a cleaner design that the previous one, and as a result is easier to keep clean.

great toothbrush, not too loud and relatively stable despite comments from some reviewers
i spent a lot of time looking at reviews for the philips sonicare products. i had an oral b electric toothbrush that i was very happy with, but my dentist recommended the sonicare so i decided to give it a try. this is the simplest (and cheapest) of the sonicare line. many of the review suggested that the gadgets on the more expensive sonicare products (3 series, healthy white, diamond care, flexcare, etc) were not really helpful (timers, pressure sensors, variable settings, etc.) and i agree. i just wanted a toothbrush that would work and didn't want too many buttons to deal with or complexities that could break. i have had the sonicare 2 series for a month now and i'm very happy with it. some reviewers complained about the noise--it is not any louder than my oral b electric toothbrush and the noise doesn't bother me. it is noticeable, but even my guests don't find it annoying. some reviewers also mention that the stand isn't very stable. this is true, but the charge lasts 2-3 weeks so i only put it on the stand when the battery is dead. the rest of the time the toothbrush can stand on the counter alone and it is very stable by itself since the bottom is very flat. overall, a great toothbrush and a great value at this price (the same brush at target was almost double the price).

I should have bought this sooner
I wouldn't have believed you if you would have told me that a $40 toothbrush would be such a huge quality of life improvement. For a while I kept hearing about this toothbrush and how great it was, and I kept putting off as a gimmick. Then I finally decided to try it out, and woo boy. I saw a difference in my teeth, and sensitivity within a week. 1. It takes two or three brushing sessions to get used to the vibrating feeling on your teeth and gums. 2. You get a deep brushing every time. It feels good to brush your teeth. It feels like your brush and teeth get a massage. 4. The soft brush head, and swift brushing motion do such a good job that you don't have to apply pressure. Just let the toothbrush do its job. 3. The toothbrush has a built in timer that beeps every 30 seconds, and shuts off after two minutes. This helps immensely by partitioning your mouth into four quadrants so you can brush each quadrant for 30 seconds. 4. The toothbrush lasts over two weeks on a single charge (brushing twice daily). It will start to blink when it needs charging. 5. Since it lasts so long on one charge, you don't have to keep it plugged in. You can put the charger in your medicine cabinet and pull it out every few weeks until the toothbrush finishes charging. This toothbrush is a huge improvement in my daily life, and I plan to buy another for my son when he gets old enough.

Pro and Con review
I bought this tooth brush bc regular ones just weren't cutting it anymore. I've been using it for a bout a week or 2 now. It's a good took brush but just like anything there are some pros and cons Pros: After the first brush you can notice the difference in how clean your teeth feel. The tooth brush is long, for hard to reach places. The brush is rechargeable. This makes it nice considering the old one I had when I had braces way back when it needed batteries but I got that one from like walmart. 2min timer to let you know you got your 2 min in Cons: The vibration is loud. With your first brush you're going to be like," Holy cow that's loud and vibrated my head like nuts!" The vibration will hurt your hand at first. If your teeth and gums aren't used to it they will bleed. I was scared there was something wrong with my gums at first bc I never had that happen, but they finally stopped after my teeth got used to it. So if this happens don't worry it happened to me too and mine no longer do it. I feel as though they should've put that on the label somewhere about that.

I bought 2 of these as gifts. One month later one of them started turning off on its own during brushing, or turning on by itself while it’s charging
