KidzLock Metal Child Safety Door Lock for Childproofing Hinged Doors, Antique Nickel I was looking for a "Dead Bolt" type Lock that could be opened & closed from both sides of the door. This fit the bill of what I was looking for. The installation went well without any problems & the instructions for installation was good. The only concern I have is the set screws on the knobs. I don't know if they will be sufficient without loosening up in the future. I would've liked to seen something a little beefier, but it may be OK. No problems yet. That is why I gave the rating a 4 star instead of 5 star.

I love the concept of this knob. It does what it says it’s supposed to and keeps my kids safe. I have four in my home. As someone else mentioned, the knobs do occasionally fall off. We’ve only had these for 2 weeks, and 2 of them have fallen off already. We have re-tightened the screws and I hope this doesnt happen again. But my feeling is that it will. The internal components do feel a little loose when you use the lock, just by design of the lock. It’s not the sturdy smooth locking feeling you get when you close a deadbolt.

Edited: so after using this lock every day, multiple times a day, it keeps breaking. There is a tiny little screw that holds the knob onto the shaft and it is SO cheap and crappy. It strips almost immediately so you can’t tighten it more and when you pull on the knob, it just falls off in your hand. I ended up super gluing the knobs on.So torn on this review. This lock is very well made and looks very clean and classy (besides the big company name down the center). However, I bought this because someone answered one of the questions that it would fit into a 1” thick door. It definitely will not. That’s no fault of the company though, so I didn’t want to lower the rating too much. By the time I figured out it wouldn’t fit my door, I was past the point of no return so I installed it anyway. We are very happy with the function but soooo annoyed that the knobs slide back and forth with a good inch of movement since the shaft is too long. In the photo, you can see how I am holding one side flush against the door and how far out the other knob sticks.

Looks great, functions well, it's refreshing to have an option that isn't a pain for everyone and will outlast the cheap, tacky door knob covers that the younger kids just learn how to take off anyways. The only downfall was the template was a little off so the pin casing was sticking out about 1/16". So we had to reem the holes for the pin casing to slide all the way in so it seats properly. The covers provided on the spin lock effectively cover the holes that we had to reem so cosmetic wise you can't even tell. It just made installation take a little longer.

This is the best I have tried easy to install and looks great! Most importantly this prevents my little ones from getting out and hurting themselves it only takes a split second for something to happen but now I can worry a little less with this on the door I will order another for the back this beats all others with the ability to open from both sides.I have tried dozens of other types and they all fail,this has endured the abuse,wear and tear and still holds up perfectly in my opinion it is the most trustworthy durable one out there, you will be happy with this lock giving you peace of mind that the other brands fall short of.

Works just as we hoped - keeps grandchild safe, but not frustrating for great-grandma to operate. Installaton was pretty easy, though the included metal template for drilling wouldn’t stay in the proper position no matter how much I tightened the screws (and did mar the door, in spite of the included pads). Overall very happy with this product and will purchase again if the need arises.

We ordered a custom made door lock for our bedroom double doors, only to find this much better (and far less expensive) model on Amazon afterward. We promptly changed out the custom lock for this model. It is substantial in weight and definitely keeps the doors locked.

very durable even though its small and sleek. has little bit friction so don't expect a very smooth opening and closing.
