3122 Silvertanium Garage Door Insulation Kit

My central FL, south-facing 3-car garage is now significantly cooler. Installation was easy, although it took several hours including wiping down the door surfaces. The sheets stay in place with the stick-ems. Packaging should be more clear in stating that one box will treat a single car garage door, but I realized bfore purchasing 3 boxes needed to cover one double and one single garage door. Although I installed the product late October, I have noted the benefits already and would recommend the product to anyone with garage heat issues. I was also concerned that the 120f temperature in my garage was causing an extra refrigerator, plus a chest freezer, to work harder, using more electricity. Amazon pricing made this an inexpensive and worthwhile project.

this stuff is basically aluminum foil with some kind of material to make it tear resistant. i returned this item and bought 4 pieces foam board with radiant barrier at my local lowes (4x8x1.5") for $70 after taxes and was able to cut to fit my garage panels, made a huge difference in temperature in my garage, made it look cleaner, and made the door feel more solid and therefor quieter. it has an r-value of 8, where this product has no r-value. if you are going to spend this kind of money i'd recommend the foam board over this product as it is the same price per square foot, otherwise just put aluminum tin foil up which is about 3 to 4 cents a square foot compared to this product at 50 cents a square foot

thought the panels would be thicker on garage door

This product did not do as advertised! It is supposed to make a big temperature difference in your garage,But I find it to only reduce garage temperature by about 10 degrees.Was put on inside of garage door as per instructions but was a waste of money. Would not recommend this to anyone.It was easy to put on, but basically was a waste of time.

I have a garage door facing east - painted dark brown (need to paint it white at some point) - it collects a huge amount of heat on full sun days - during summer so hot you cannot put your hand on it. My grandson and I installed the panels in a couple hours - as posted by others, cleaning the interior of the door was the hard part. It is making a difference - once we hit the 90 plus summer days, that will test how much improvement is made. I will also get around to painting the exterior of the door white and that will help for sure. Anyway, I see not reason not to use the product - it is easy to install, inexpensive, unobtursive and does reduce heat transfer. I will come back and give it a 5 if it makes a 30 degree difference in the summer.

The temperature stays cool longer. So there you go. For a little cash, a garage can be made to work as a guitar repair shop in 90+ degree weather.======1. GARAGE FACES WESTEven though in a semi-subtropical area (Tallahassee, FL) with pretty hot temps and high humidity from May through September/October followed in December/early April with cold temps of 30s to 40s. My garage door faces west toward the setting sun. This will be an interesting factor for summer use. Cold months? Upcoming and another add-on to this review.2. GARAGE DOOR SIZE IS 16' X 7'My garage door has 32 panels (8 across, 4 down) as opposed to a single car garage with (8) 24" x 48" panels. So a modification by cutting is needed.3. GARAGE HAS A/CKeep in mind, I purchased a Whynter ARC-10WB 10,000 Btu Portable A/C unit(see my review there) for this garage which works extremely well in this very, very hot and muggy locale. The A/C is only used for 30-45 min to cool off the space... then turned on again when it reaches 80° or so. I'm guessing and hoping that the *Reach Barrier 3122* material behaves and performs up to the company's claims. GARAGE IS ATTACHED TO HOUSEIn theory, keeping the radiant heat out will reduce eat transfer to the interior of my home via kitchen door, and 2 walls when the garage is not in use as a shop. Heat not rising into the attic from the garage should keep the central A/C working more efficiently. NOTE: I do use a Cool-N-Save Cool-n-Save Pre-Cooling System which works very well and will have an effect on the electric bill also.

I seldom write reviews. However, I feel compelled to write for this product simply because I was looking with such enthusiasm to having it installed. Not being a handy person, I paid a professional to install it. I dare not repeat what he said regarding "Easy to install". Forget it! Very time consuming. Bottom Line, this product did absolutely nothing for reducing the inside temperature of the garage in this beastly summer heat we experience here in the mid west. The only positive thing I can say is it looks nice. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

This product was very easy to install, especially with the "Reach Stick'ems" adhesive pads. I reside in central Florida and my garage in noticeably cooler after I installed the Reach Barrier 3122 Silvertanium Garage Door Kit. I have recommended this product to my neighbor and brother-in-law.
