Excellent performance
Works great. Charges both of our GM electric cars reliably. Well built.

Wow. 3x faster than Kia charger at 120v
Best purchase in a long time! I’m amazed at how great this works. I have a 2024 EV9 and have been using the Kia charger that came with it. This charges 3x faster on just 120V. Literally went from 96 hours on 45% charge to 32 hours. WOW!!!

Great for roadtripping
This works on my Kia EV6. I plugged it into a regular 5-15 for level one charging and it works charging at 1.8 KW/H. I also used it with a 14-50P to 6-20R adapter, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081PZCR65?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details, and it works well charging at 3.7 KW/H. I use the 14-50 plug with a 50amp breaker with my ChargePoint Homeflex. My ChargePoint will draw 40amp and charges 2.5 times as fast. This cord will only draw 16amp so it works as designed.I got this charger primarily to keep in the car for road trips. I like the 28 foot length. I figure it will come in handy on the road when I stay with friends and can plug into their outdoor wall socket. I got the 14-50 adapter just in case I stay overnight at an RV or campground where there is a 14-50 plug. Driving on the road, I'm hoping I won't have to use it but I feel much better having it and the different charging options just in case.Another note about this charger is the amperage. The 120 AC outlets in my garage are 20 amp so I have no issues using this charger at my house. On the road when I stay with friends, this may not be the case. I can adjust the AC charge level in my Kia EV6 to minimum and I charge at 1.1 KWH instead of the max of 1.8 KWH. This allows my to plug in at a friends house even if they only have a 15amp outlet.

Works
Since it’s a level one, it takes me about a day and a half to fully charge my car

Schumacher customer services A+
We ordered this EV car charging cable in 2022. In August of 2024, the cable started exhibiting overheating and melting issues. We contacted Schumacher Electric and they immediately reached back out to us. After sending them photos of the bad device, a supervisor determined that the issues were due to a faulty cable. They replaced the cable at no charge to us even though the warranty had already expired. We will absolutely be ordering from Schumacher Electric again for any future needs.Highly recommend the product and service provided.

Works for 2022 Tesla Model 3
This is a great charger to have in your EV at all times. My Tesla came with a J1772 adapter which works perfectly with this charger. On my 20amp, 5-20 outlet (the somewhat common receptacles with the horizontal slot on the left) I was able to charge at 16amps x 113volts = 1,808kw/hr which will charge my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance at about 7 miles/hour or 2.2% of the battery gained/hour. I initially expected to get 5% gain/hour since my wiring and breaker allow for 20 amps at 240 volts. However, I'm a novice and realize now that the 5-20 receptacles cap out at 120 volts. I believe in my case, in order to get the full capacity of this charger I would simply have to install a $5 6-20p outlet (fairly uncommon receptacles with the horizontal slot on the right) in place of the existing 5-20 outlet. I'm not an electrician, but it appears as though this charger will try to draw 16amps on a standard 5-15 outlet (the most common type with two vertical slots and a ground). In my novice opinion, you should probably tell your car to limit charging to 12 amps (80% of 15 amps) in order to prevent your breaker from tripping and/or your wiring from frying. To summarize, it works well as a Tesla backup charger. I have it in my trunk at all times. Highly recommended!

Mediocre at best
First unit sent would connect intermittently throwing more "Unable to Connect" errors than "Charging Started" with my EV6. Our Chevy Bolt's cable charged the EV6 fine so it likely wasn't the car. Noticed that when it did connect, that there was a click that latched it into the car but other times couldn't get the pistol to click. Quickly sent a replacement unit and it seems to be connecting properly every time. It did throw a voltage error so I'll check the line voltage but that only happened once and resetting the unit fixed that. Once it's connected it's fine and so far it's 5 for 6 which I'll take any time over the previous one that seemed to refuse to connect. In the end, excellent support, material quality and construction given the price.Update: Voltage fluctuation seems to be a real problem for my replacement unit as it faults once a week on average. Wouldn't be a problem if the unit automatically restarted charging after a fault. I know this is easier said than done due to possible edge cases but our other level 1 charger (which also runs every night) has NEVER thrown a fault (in five years of use). This is all level 1 charging since I don't have a level 2 charger at home. But it is frustrating to wake up in the morning to find that the charger turned on for a few minutes and then went south in the middle of the night. Dropping the rating to 2 stars as a result. Problems with unit shutting off still continues and is becoming more of a problem than it’s worth. Looking to replace unit as this one may succumb to an “Office Space” fate! Do not buy if reliability is important…

Excellent value
Edit: Now I have had some time to test it and measure its output. For me at peaks output around 1510W, compared to my stock 12A units 1305W on a 20A circuit, so in my case I am seeing about a 15% increase in output on 120V. Interestingly it lowers the output when there are other loads on the same circuit drawing power. I am not sure how or why it does this, but it probably helps prevent breakers tripping. I have not had any trip.Gets 16A at either 120V or 240V. Got it for the 120V and the longer cord but it is nice to have the option of 240 just in case. Does indeed draw 16A so be sure to use an outlet on a 20A or higher circuit if you want to minimize the chance of the breaker tripping. Have not tried it on a 15A circuit but I can imagine it will not take much to trip. The cord is much thicker than my OEM units and says 14 AWG on it.All those things together makes this a very good value compared to other similar items that are either just 120 and/or have shorter cords.
