Prevue Pet Products Travel Cage for Birds and Small Animals, Blue (SP1304BLUE), 9.0" L x 5.6" W x 6.1" H

I bought this to transport my parakeet to the vet. It’s very small, which makes it perfect for short trips. He won’t be able to use the perch because there isn’t enough room for him to stand up when the perch is installed, but he won’t be in it long enough to matter. Seems to be well made and great value for the money. Bird cages of any type can be very expensive, so I’m glad I found this one.

This is a very small transport cage. We used it to bring our new budgie home and seemed much more friendly than the cardboard boxes used at the store. I took a square of fabric and cut a slit in the middle for the handle to use as a cover and he was perfectly calm on the way home. It made the transition into his new cage easy....simply unlock the lid set it into the base (if cage door is wide like mine) and we let him come out on his own time. As suggested by another buyer I intend to use the base for his bath and play time once he is hand trained and is comfortable coming out of the cage. Will be handy if we need a trip to the vet.

Our Parrotlet loves to travel in this carrier. It offers her plenty of space to move around and she enjoys climbing the bars. Like many, we added a food and water dish and hung a toy. I have not used this for our budgie yet but based on user photos, he should be fine. I do wish Prevue Pet would make a larger carrier EXACTLY like this for medium sized birds (cockatiel). I love how the door opens on the side versus the top. A carrier cover would be nice, I've made my own for the meantime. Highly recommend for small birds. We did zip tie the bottom and top together as a safety precaution even though ours seemed secure upon assembly.

I have a senacal parrot I wanted it for us moving out of state to put him in The car to tide with us. No room for him and he is not a large parrot size of parakeet so he still squished in cage

Wonderful product! My two budgies fit comfortably. There was even room for a toy and a bowl (highly recommend finding a deep, narrow dish for water and only fill about halfway to minimize spilling). The cage is sturdily made and they liked using the perch.Edit to update: it's been almost 3 years since I purchased, and this cage is still good as new! Not showing signs of any damage or wear, and we've used it a LOT (bringing the birds to check ups / long road trips when we visit family multiple times a year). I continue to be impressed by the quality. It's one of the best pet-supply purchases I've ever made.Most of the 1- star reviews seem to come from folks whose birds were too large for this cage. This is the right size for budgies, canaries, finches, etc. Not medium/large birds.

This cage suited my budgies' needs. I used it to transport them to the bird-sitter and then to transport them back. I liked the size and the insertable perch which you can see they enjoyed as well. I actually used just the bottom portion for a week beforehand as a feeding bowl in their large flight cage so that they could get used to it and would not be traumatized getting into the cage on moving day. The cage is nice and sturdy and easy to clean as well. Very pleased with it and my budgies were too. :D

I have a TINY parakeet that couldn't fit in here. I would say this cage is made for some sort of rodent but the bare are probably too wide. The door is tiny, I can't see any animal being squeezed through it. On top of that the handle kept coming off by itself which is really dangerous. My sister has a TOY cage and the material and size looks JUST like this one. I have no use for it and I can't even donate it bc It's more trouble than its worth. Petco sells a basic and reliable bird vet cage and its $20. Get that instead.
