I sent these Christmas cookies to my uncle in Wva. They arrived on time, in perfect condition and I was told they were so delicious that they were addicting! The gorgeous Christmas tin was huge and held 300 lovely, yummy butter cookies...plenty for the entire family! The price was great and shipping free! Perfect holiday gift.

Delicious cookies
The media could not be loaded. Cookies are really good. Only problem isthere is a problem with broken cookies because they are so buttery & crisp. Not sure how that problem can be solved. I would say about 5% broken cookies. I put broken pieces in cuisinart & made fine crumbs for baking. I want to order again but consider breakage a continuous problem. They seem to be packed pretty well in metal container but maybe a piece of foam over the top inside container would help. They really are delicious & I share them with other residents in senior facility where I live.

288 unbroken cookies!!!
In a perfect world, I'd like to think I would receive a cookie tin through the mail with no broken cookies. Ain't gonna happen!!! Maybe if I walked into a Costco in December and bought them off the shelf, but that still doesn't guarantee there won't be broken cookies and I live 80 miles from a Costco and it's not December...so,.that still ain't gonna happen either. I think Amazon did a decent job trying to reduce the breakage by lining the sides of the delivery box with air pillows, so the tin was secure. There were "only" 12 broken cookies....guess what they still taste as good as the unbroken ones. The most breakable is the fragile circle I call a wreath. There was only a slight dent in the corner of the lid and to top it off, the tin has a very easily removed stencil label on one side of the tin so no more advertising. I won't hesitate to buy more....go for it!

Smells funny
So I did a LOT of research on "the original danish cookie" and apparently this is one of the brand names of the company that claims lineage. I normally buy the smaller blue tins (under a different name but apparently the same company — but not the same cookies!). These cookies smelled bad. Like ammonia. I had to let them air out. Also, they seemed under-cooked. I still ate them of course. It's not like they seemed "stale" or "rotten." Not at all. It is like there is something about this recipe that is off. but when you get a giant tin like this, it is hard to just make a snap judgment to throw them away.I am deeply disappointed with the flavor as compared to the smaller blue tins (again, apparently by the same company). I won't be buying these anymore and I will be recommending people to stay away from this, despite the giant blue tin, and the value per cookie. I wish I had better news to report.
