Best Professional Siberian Kolinsky Sable Detail Paint Brush, Value Set of 10, Miniature Brushes Will Keep a Fine Point and Spring, for Watercolor, Oil, Acrylic, Nail Art & Models

I bought these brushes for painting miniatures. I had heard a lot about kolinksy sable brushes and decided to spend the extra money and pick some up. These seemed like a good price for the number of brushes you get so I opted for this item over individual brushes from more familiar brands. When they arrived and I used them I was surprised that kolinsky sable had the reputation it did considering what poor brushes these were. The bristles were coarse, did not keep a point, and fell out easily. They bent easily and did not return to their original shape which is supposed to be one of the attributes kolinsky sable is known for. Upon getting some Windsor & Newton kolinsky sable brushes and using them I am now quite certain these brushes are not in fact kolinsky sable. The Windsor & Newton brushes were fantastic and could not have been more different from the brushes in this pack. I am now quite sure these brushes are not made from kolinsky sable, or if they are they were harvested from a malnourished diseased specimen of sable. Considering these brushes were $50, do yourself a favor and spend a little more to get real sable.

*Updated* seller was very helpful and explained the difference (they said they changed the product, but had old pictures. Seller replaced product with old product for me). It's worth noting that they appear to have added more accurate photos of the current product, but I still see at least one that seems to still reflect old brushes, just know the new product doesn't have much difference in size between the 3 smallest brushes.*Original review*Time will tell on the quality and durability, but the sizes of these brushes are terrible. I get that sizes are different from brush brand to brand, so I'll excuse that my 1 brush in another more premium brand is about the same size as the 5/0. However, I will not excuse that the diameter of a 2/0 Vs a 5/0 of the same brand are the same. Everything in this set below the 0 is the same diameter just with more length and not even close to the relative scale represented in the product image.

After buying 3 sable brush sets I ended up loving this one the best for many reasons all the brushes this comes with, how they preform on miniatures and more. Honestly the other 2 sets will be ok back ups. But nothing more then that. I am super impressed with this product, and have 1 more to try out. But this is a leader currently.

Best brushes for the money. Sure, they're not as good as the Windsor & Newton Series 7, but they are excellent, durable, hold their points, and you get 10 brushes of varying sizes for the same price you'd pay for a single Series 7. I use these for wargame miniature painting and they are durable enough to make it through painting an entire squad with the points intact, and soft enough that I can get a smooth coat of paint. I would definitely recommend these to any fellow hobbyists.

This is the second set of these brushes I have used. I love them. It took a while but I paint so much I wore out the first set. They are great quality for the price and I like the spring they have and they retain there shape well.

This is my third and cheapest set of model brushes and they make everything I bought before look like complete trash.Great belly, reliable shape, comfortable hold. I'm sure the more expensive Kolinsky brushes are better somehow, but I honestly don't feel like these are lacking in any way. They certainly exceed my own skill level.

I am a professional miniature painter and this is the first brush set I have purchased, I got tired of spending money on GW brushes I thought were going to be good, only to have them split and fray after a few weeks of use. I figured, at least with this many brushes for this price it's bound to at least break even in term of quality, price, and use. These brushes exceeded those expectations by a long shot. I highly recommend them to my fellow miniature painters.

I bought these to use woth india ink, and they are perfect!I also would like to compliment the odd shaped handle. I've got nerve damage in my right hand from an operation so I can't always tell how tightly or looslely Im holdong something. The handles were really helpful and I could feel the edges when my grip became too tight.
