Solid Brass Over Street Brass - No Brainer
The Solid Brass Zippo is the way to go !I’m a United States Navy Veteran ( Desert Storm / Shield ) and this lighter is an absolute must for anyone who loves to sail the seas .Just something very nautical about it .Love this beautiful brass !I was really surprised to see the insert being brass as well .I’ve been collecting Zippos since the 1980’s and even though most do not get used anymore, this one definitely will .It’s a great addition.I had a brass zippo years ago - similar- but wasn’t this nice .I also was checking out the reviews.I was stunned to see how many people love the street brass zippo .( I’m not a fan - sorry . Something about the coating turned me off ).You won’t be disappointed with the Solid Brass !It’s beautiful and it works like a Zippo should .I hope to use for many years .Now I want to go sailing !!Happy Sails everyone

Works well, only complaint is fuel evap
This is a great lighter - I was disappointed with the ‘street brass’ version I purchased elsewhere because it felt cheap and came with a thick plastic coating. This solid brass version feels much nicer, and the matching insert looks nice as well. FYI - while the case is solid brass, the insert is brass-colored but is made of steel. My only complaint is the same with all Zippos using liquid fuel - evaporation keeps this from being a perfect lighter since it only lasts a week or two before refueling.

Best lighter on the market, high quality, low price and Made in USA!
You may be on a quest for a good lighter. The zippo lighter solid brass is made of brass on the shell and it looks like the actual lighter insert is brass too. This lighter will last a lifetime with proper maintenance. You also get a lifetime guarantee. If you don't want to use a kerosene based lighter insert there are several Zippo made inserts with butane and different flame types.I have bought several other lighters before I got this one and I regret buying anything other than a zippo. It is a classic lighter, well made, and of all the products still made in the USA most have gone under dramatic price increases over the past several years while Zippo lighters seem to be as cheap as they have always been. One of the best values in the market! I support made in USA and it is hard to find affordable products still being made in USA.In terms of finish it is brushed with a very nice brushing. The polished surfaces have some machine marks. If you want a perfect finish you may want another version. I highly recommend the solid brass version since there is no plating to wear off. That being said I have never had the chrome finish ever wear off but I just prefer solid brass. There is a copper version of this lighter which I want but is much more expensive. For the cost, the solid brass Zippo is probably the best value out there.

Zippos are the quintessential lighter
Looks good, feels good, works good. Not much else to say since if you know Zippos, you know what to expect. I wish they could make them hold the fuel better without drying out so fast. Other than that, it's a great, iconic lighter that just looks better with time.

Brushed Brass With Solid Brass Recommended
Purchased the "Brushed Brass With Solid Brass" version. Good quality. Even the insert appears to be brass on this version. Recommended. While I like the brass finish of the "Street Brass" version, the lacquered finish that is applied to the brass, in my opinion, detracts from the overall appeal. I returned the "Street Brass" version and kept the "Brushed Brass With Solid Brass" version.

Works as great as it looks!
Like all zippos made after 2018, you do have to take out the insert and re-pack it to get it to work properly. Before repacking the insert it would last about 2 days. After repacking I can now easily go 7-10 days between fills, and I use the lighter quite frequently. The finish is nice, the two faces of the lighter are brushed, but the sides are polished. The lighter lights reliably, and the flints and wick are easy to replace.
