When You're a Spy.......
This review is mostly for the entire series, with some comments on how it ends.I just completed a series marathon of Burn Notice, over the course of the last three weeks, and if you watch 111 episodes (I haven't bothered with the Axe movie) in that compressed a time period, you notice some things. One, is that "I need a favor" might be the most spoken phrase in the entire series, usually spoken by Michael. Another is that all three Westons are pains in the ass, though you still like them. Michael is selfish and demanding, Madeline truly believes that she knows best about everything no matter the topic, and Nate is your classic screw-up, though all have a nobility that makes you forgive them. Fiona and Sam have personalities that fit the series (always on-call, full of innovative ideas, loyal past the point of common sense), while Jesse was a breath of fresh air, as well as a fourth body that allowed for bigger action sequences. But I liked them all, and the six actors involved were very skilled and have a great on-screen chemistry, no matter the combination.Did the overall plot narrative get drawn out a bit? Possibly, until the final season here, where Michael finally began to unravel after all he's been through. Jeffrey Donovan pulls it off so skillfully that it makes me wonder why they didn't do it earlier, when it would have been just as realistic. How USA Network gets these great actors to lead their shows (Bomer, McCormack, Shaloub, etc in addition to JD) is fascinating, especially given that they're genre shows that, Monk excepted, are never going to win awards.....given that they're genre shows. Bruce Campbell is playing what can only be described as the Bruce Campbell role, and ably does the comic relief. Sharon Gless......I would have liked less of her frankly, that character needed smaller doses, but she's a great actress and elevates the role above the typical 'mom'. Coby Bell might just be the best actor of the bunch, while Seth Peterson (Nate) grew in the role, which the writers noted as they gave him more to do as the series went on. The various guest stars and recurring players (Dead Larry, Barry, Dixon) were ably done and had distinctive personalities. I'm not sure the show could have handled an eighth season without a re-jiggering of the main plot line (Michael being burned), but I would have liked to see them try, as The Mentalist has tried to do over the last few months. Perhaps the actors were ready to finish, or the ratings were declining just enough, I don't know. The end? I'm happy that it's an end, that the series wasn't just cancelled abruptly and left on a cliffhanger. That's all I'll say about it, other than that I enjoyed it. Burn Notice is a very well acted, competently scripted show that delivers 45 minutes of action at a pop, and I'll miss it. I hope the actors go on to other interesting projects, as well as series creator Matt Nix, I'm greatly looking forward to his next show.Five Stars

FINALE! Please shoot Fiona!
Fiona was at the height of her role and likability when she was in prison. She was always impetuous, impatient and unyielding. Just a regular spoiled brat! Truth is, she doesn't really know or trust Michael. She doesn't know how to trust anyone. She obviously (as a character) doesn't trust herself. She can mess around with men sexually just to make Michael jealous, and then end up back with him! Cooties! Nasty! Michael should have dumped her after the 6th Season and just left her alone. Fiona and Car-loco are much better suited. Carlos is pretty hot, you've got to admit.Fiona is jealous of Sonya......haahahahahahaha. I love it. I can only hope that Sonya just popped her at the end. I know that I will be greatly disappointed and the bullet will be the fake tracker bullet or something. Ack! Something will go wrong where Sonya ends up on the wrong side of the bullet and Fiona tries to feign this endless love for Michael to pull him away from her rivals. She will love him until her next nail appointment. All I can say is PLEASE, after this long ride for 7 Seasons, don't end this series in a normal way. Bring Car-loco back for Fiona if she lives. Let Michael take down the CIA (the CIA is actually, in real life, a Delaware corporation and should never have been created. Look it up! So are many other departments of the U.S. govt. including Department of Health and Human Services, United States, Inc. (the corp. that took over America), Federal Reserve, and more... The CIA was formed to house the Nazi scientists brought over here after WWII under Project Paperclip, and is ROGUE!)Let's have a REAL ENDING where the truly GOOD and dedicated people triumph over the evil bureaucrats! I hope that James has a good ending also. I really got to like him, although they never really totally described their organization's philosophy and goals. It was a great series and a great run. Somebody tie some dynamite in Fiona's long hair and see her go BOOM! Forever!!!! The End. Le Fin.

Best television show I've seen in years.
Next to Breaking Bad, I strongly feel that future television writers will be watching this show for inspiration for strong character development. Michael Weston to me is the best character I've seen on television.Even though this show has plenty of great characters, especially villains, the show never moves away from the idea that Michael is the main character and this show is his journey. Even though some viewers might find it campy and sometimes silly, it is some of the best character development I've seen in a show and has gone beyond my expectations of what a show can or could do.One reason why I feel this show is a little better than Breaking Bad is because it doesn't always have to be serious. There are great episodes with a lot of humor especially with Bruce Campbell playing the popular Sam Axe and the humor never takes away from the drama or the action. Oh the action, Matt Nix really goes all the way without crappy shaky cams ruining the moment. These scenes are fast paced pulsing moments that kept me engaged up to the very end. One last thing about this show. You never have to start from season 1-7. You could, which could make it more enjoyable. However, the series quickly sets up every season as a new sub adventure for Michael Weston, for me you can practically start at any season and will never be lost with whats going on. For the best experience I would start with season 1, but frankly every season will feel like a new sub story in itself. If you haven't seen this show I strongly recommend this to anyone who likes action, drama, and a little bit of comedy. Thumbs up all the way.

This is a fantastic series
The first five seasons are the best. The last two are a bit repetitive, but the final episode is incredible and wraps up the series perfectly.

Contrat rempli

Incredible Suspense
We here at home have watched the whole series. Season 1 was okay so we thought we would give season 2 a shot, and then season 3, etc. We found that each season got better: The scripts got tighter and there was great character development. The addition of Jesse was great. But season 7 goes in a whole new direction where Michael is under cover trying to get into a terrorist organization. As an aside, it is interesting who defines what terrorism is, and in this season we had fun with that question.Michael gets involved, and strange things happen. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that Michael really loses his sense of who he is, which creates some interesting problems. We watched the last 3 episodes on the edge of our seats. Phenomenal tension, great acting and excellent script writing and directing. If you have enjoyed any of the earlier seasons, watch them all and get ready for the roller coaster of this season.
