House of TroyT8-1 Classic Traditional 1-Light Picture Light, Gold Finish

It’s one of those stories of endless debacles: shipped slow AF. Arrived. Wrong color sent. Contacted manufacturer. Distributor to blame. 4 emails. Photos. Return shipping label. Sent replacement. Looooong ship time (like a week or so). Right color. Damaged with scratches all over the housing. Another contact to manufacturer. 3 emails. Return ship label. Sending replacement. Waiting… still. I swear I’d this weren’t the only one on the market that is the color and size I’m looking for I would have given up 3 weeks ago. As it were, just keeping the ladder erect on end in my music room waiting for a proper item to illuminate the dot mandala painting. Don’t judge me. I just don’t want to walk that dang ladder back and forth—in a haze of illogical hope that I will one day get a proper item. Gave it a bonus star for quality craftsmanship, as it is. Just be prepared to hang it about the time you’re checking into your nursing home facility.

I already had several of these throughout the house, so I knew I would like it! This takes up to a 40 watt bulb. I found that for most locations a 25 watt bulb is more than adequate. This latest lamp was installed in a small hallway. In this location the 25 watts put out way too much light. I swapped in a 15 watt bulb -- much better. It is nice that this lamp uses a very widely available size of bulb that can be obtained in various wattages.The quality of the lamp is very good. It comes with a very long cord which really isn't needed if you are plugging in to an outlet behind the picture. In fact it takes some doing to tightly wind the cord so that it sits behind the painting without lifting it away from the wall. I suppose I could shorten the cord.

These are very good quality on construction and look. Love the metal - many times get plastic which breaks. However, have trouble sometimes with socket making connection. The socket material is very solid. I am not sure it is the lights. I find with bulbs these days - probably coming from other countries don't always make secure connections. It seems like the threads do line up or the bulb base may not be quite long enough. I have purchased many lights from House of Troy and they are really good quality. I have not contacted the company but I am sure their customer service would exchange but like I said it maybe the bulbs that are now made out of states

Everything I have purchased from House of Troy has been first class, and this light is no exception. I compared these with ones available in the big box stores, and there is no comparison. This light was comparably priced, but quaity is head and shoulders above anything I found in the big stores. You can purchase House of Troy products in specialty lighting stores, but their selection may not be as expansive as that here on Amazon and the prices will be higher. Definitely a great light at a great price.

As advertised, adjusts as stated, would buy again!

looks great and perfect light

This is a well built, nice looking picture light. I have it on a 21x42" canvas painting. It covers the width easily but only covers down about 32". I can tilt it to cover all but it is not as bright at the bottom. House of Troy has a very strong reputation in picture lighting.

Beautiful antique brass finish. House of Troy picture lights are the best - top quality.
