Yoga for Beginners
I knew nothing about Yoga and was interested in learning the background and what the poses were. I found it very interesting.

Just the book I was looking for
I liked all the detailed steps and photos of the different poses. It was just the information I was looking for.

A wonderful way to refresh my memory.
I have been doing yoga off and on for over fifty years. The last 3 years I have been fighting bone cancer. The treatments and medications have taken there toll. I wanted to get stronger, so I returned back to yoga. Using the book to choose what I can do at my speed and endurance will be a great help.

“Great little book” is how l would sum up this book. I have been away from Yoga for several years and am currently unable to attend local classes so l was looking for a comprehensive book that would show remind me of the various Yoga positions. It did just that and l was delighted to see that it was full of explanation and indeed moved on to more intermediate and advanced movement too.

With the detailed description of each pose it is easy for beginners to follow and improve as the become more familiar with each pose and grow more flexible.

Clearly laid out and for someone brand new to Yoga, a gentle introduction. Many of the poses are a long way away for me, but there are enough I can do. It would be considerably improved by having the photo on one page and the instructions on the facing page for each pose. Even better: use a spiral binding so it lies flat so you can read while trying the pose. One or two of the photos and descriptions don't completely match, so a bit of editing would help. Still useful, though.

A book written with beginners in mind. An easy to understand introduction to yoga with photos and guidelines for each posture included.

As the practice of yoga is set and it is only really the delivery that varies, it is reasonable to expect that the content of any book on yoga would be essentially the same, and this book conforms to that. It doesn’t matter which book you buy, it is only the presentation and wording that will vary. That is to be expected. With the above in mind, the reason that I have given low stars is because of the quality of this book which is very poor. It is printed on low quality paper and poor resolution. Images are blurry, not terribly, they are clear enough to serve the purpose but for the price, surely it is not to much to expect clear crisp printing? Personally I found this distracting, especially my initial impression of “is this a cheap rip off, I’ve been conned”. Not exactly a positive start!
