My son likes the game very much!

The saving grace for this game of the lower price than a main title. For the price, it has decent entertainment value. I didn’t spend more than 25 hrs on this and that’s because I’m a slow gamer.Everything else about this is an improvement over Spider-Man 1. From traversal to combat, all mechanics are improved. This one also makes you feel like Spider-Man. Again. And in a better way. Enough said!My smaller criticism is still that this should be a longer game. Miles deserves a longer story. My main criticism is the story. It’s not bad. Just a noticeable step down from the first one due to many reasons.Firstly it’s predictable and straight forward. Not a bad thing on its own. But add to the fact that the characters and their motivations are not well fleshed out, and I started losing interest. Maybe because the game is small, but the standard for storytelling is much higher, by even insomniac’s standards. The first Spider-Man felt like a short series. This one felt like a Christmas special episode (which it literally is). I also saw the inkling of wokeness, with justification of dubious moral standards for evil characters (especially coloured ones), snobbish female character, simpering male lead etc.This is more subliminal and symbolic, not explicit. So it won’t really spoil the experience. But if you know the politics in modern western stories, you can’t ignore it.If the story was well done, I would still give it a 5-star for making a shorter game.
