Corporate Finance: The Basics

Great book
Really great overview of corporate finance and also explains well the overarching principles - I recall learning in a professional qualification about eg EBITDA multiples but not sure we ever covered how/why that factors into business valuations, for example, whereas this text does a really great job of conveying the overarching principles and how everything fits together (rather than just what you need to do to pass an exam). Covers CAPM, WACC, cost of debt (YTM) and gives sufficient detail to understand without getting into higher complexity points eg asset betas/degearing betas. Also fundamentals like working capital and cash > profits etc. Really useful book.A few really minor errors/points: I think one table fairly early on was £10 out on the maths, but this was quite obvious so not liable to cause real trouble, and when summarising (I believe) two key points in (I think) the debt chapter, the first point began by speaking to what was then the second point - this was a little confusing when making notes chronologically but fine once both points read: just think those could've been structured better.
