Neat modern looking and compact size. The touch feature is the best part as it's just so easy to turn on and off especially when your half asleep in a dark room. The LED lights work great and light up just enough light for what I need without it being too bright. It can be used as a night light also for kids or whoever. I used it for reading as well.Another great thing about this unit is that it's super portable. You can take it anywhere as it runs off batteries. Power outage, no problem. I even gave one to my niece who was scared at night and wanted some light on while she slept. She liked it.Now the bad news and the 3 stars is that it didn't last as long as I hoped. I mean it still is working but the LED's are so dull now no matter if I put on a fresh pair of batteries. It will shine bright for a very short time and then become dull again fast. It lasted a couple years so not the best quality as LED's are supposed to last way longer than normal lights. Not these and I'm so disappointed as I really liked this unit.I also didn't like how fast the batteries would drain. I ended up buying expensive rechargeable batteries to save me money as this thing would suck up batteries like crazy! I finally had enough with barely being able to see and the touch feature also was going so so bad. You had to touch it over and over until it decided it wanted to work. I thankfully found my old Fulcrum Flex Light and have never been so pleased! It's twice the light and half the size. Flexable to your own desire and last forever! I now have a new favorite light. Too bad as the Touch does look so much nicer.

There are two versions of this a plastic one and a metal one. Make sure u get the metal one. It’s great! The plastic one is a P.O.S. Does not turn in and off well at all

We don't have an overhead light in our living room, so my daughter would get a lot of shadows on the paper when she was doing her homework. This lamp is small enough to sit on her writing desk without getting in the way, and it casts a large pool (no 'spotlight' effect like with some LED lamps) of bright, white light. Everyone likes the way it looks...the brushed copper is very nice and accents the natural wood look without blending into the background too much.My daughter has been using this lamp a couple hours a day (weekdays) for a good amount of time now and we're still on the original set of batteries, so no problems there either.It's good looking and it does exactly what a portable lamp should do.This is something I would buy again if the need for a second one came up. I wouldn't even bother looking at anything else, this works perfectly.

I can't believe how wonderfully this lamp works with just the slightest touch! There's no need to press, just lightly touch it, and it goes on. There is no on/off switch. I did read one review stating that the touch feature stopped after just 4 days. I've had my lamp for a week now, and it's still working. I did also read in that review a way to handle it if the touch feature does stop. Thank you for that! I do hope it continues just as it is. You can read by this light, and it's great for emergencies - like the terrible 8-day outage we had here in late October. I just had flashlights then. I am about to buy another one of these touch lamps. I want the metal one like the one I have, and not the slightly cheaper plastic ones. Also, I can easily carry this lamp around by its neck, so when the light went out in my laundry room while doing a wash yesterday, I just brought this one over to my machine and it saved the day for me!

We have three of these in our house and I love them. One on a table by the recliner where we watch TV in case we need a little extra light to check something on the remote, etc. One in the kitchen if one of us gets up in the middle of the night and doesn't want to turn on overhead lights just to get a drink of water, etc. And finally, one in the bathroom, also to avoid turning on overhead lights. They're so great - just touch and then touch again to turn off. Plus, if you just want a little mood light, they're perfect for that as well.

Can't beat the price. Works well as a small area lamp. I use mine to sit on my dresser without requiring a cord, and to illuminate the sock drawer when i don't want to wake a sleeping partner. Makes a nice pool of light. Turns on and off well. Has a bit of a "zen" appearance that suits modern decor. Cannot yet attest to battery life, but I only use it for 30 seconds or less at a time. I also like the fact that it makes a ready source of illumination during power outages. Generally would not take it on a trip or outdoors, as it does not seem rugged. Has an unfortunate sticker on it that does not peel off cleanly. Can't beat the value.

I was looking for a small table light to put on my patio relaxing area. My table there is between 2 zero gravity chairs. It is a silver table that has a beautiful top. I tried this one & it looks so great that I bought a black one to go on my " bar style" table with 4 matching black & chrome stools. The top of the table is a black speckle with chrome accents. The black lamp will fit beautifully as a small light. The light is not for reading, in my opinion, but a light that can be used as a candle sub for a romantic dinner around my bar table. I can't wait for a spring to reap the benefits. Modern & beautiful lamp for atmosphere.

Nice lamp, but after using it for short periods 4 times over 4 days, it no longer turns on when you touch the top. You can still get it to turn on by touching the top and lamp body at the same time. This is a workable state but it does not bode well when something breaks so fast and is awkward in the dark. Haven't decided if I'm too lazy to return it.It's worked fairly well so I gave it one more star. One problem is that though it has 3 batteries it only drains one (according to my fancy charger) so it doesn't last as long as it should. Sloppy circuit design. Nice lamp though.

It's just ok even at the reduced price of 3-400. Can be used as a night light / emergency light

Just enough soft light for seniors getting up in the night for bathroom visits. With a light touch the light is there. I have given three of them as gifts, much appreciated. My Norwegian son-in-law, who swears there is never a power outage in Norway had an outage recently. He was very happy to have his Lanterna Touch Lamp!!

Just used 2 of these during latest storm created power outage (and used last year also). These lamps are beautiful, easy to use, safe (no fire hazard - as with candles, kerosene lanterns, etc.). Have ordered 7 more - 2 for me (so I don't need to carry one around), rest for friends in same power outage prone area.

We have quite a few power outages, especially winter. The Laterna provides instant light rather than fumbling for matches, candles, etc.The 3 AA batteries are supposed to provide 30 hours of light however I haven't tried to verify this. I also bought 2 for gifts, handy in this area for the same reason.

This product is good , but I was looking for the 3 tapper lanterna lamp which is brighter.
