Canon MC-G02 Maintenance Cartridge, Compatible to Canon PIXMA G1220, G2260, G620 & G3260 Printers

After going thru all the maintenance checks on my canon pixma g620 printer, it still was not printing the correct colors. The next step was refilling all the inks so the ink flush could be completed. But before the flush I decided to replace the maintenance cartridge, suggested by Canon Support. I ordered the replacement from Amazon, as it was Canon actual replacement. It arrived securely packaged and the instructions were clear for removal of old and replacing new. Once complete, I performed a nozzle check. It was still incomplete. Then came the ink flush. Problem solved. Prints like new.

I had to run several print head cleaning cycles when the printer stopped printing black. I got a caution message that this process uses a lot of ink, but I never considered where all that ink goes. I found out when a warning light came on and the printer would not print. Fortunately this maintenance cartridge was all I needed. Installation was easy. Removing one screw allows you to remove a cover plate and pull the old cartridge out. Inserting the new cartridge and replacing the cover plate and screw completes the process. The new cartridge even includes a plastic bag - slip the old cartridge in the bag, seal it up, and it's ready for disposal. The old cartridge will be full of all that ink I mentioned, so I slipped a plastic bag (the one that the new cartridge was delivered in) under the printer before I started, to protect the desk, and I was careful not to tilt the cartridge as I was handling it. Once I was done, the printer functioned again. The head cleaning worked.

I have learned changing this sooner rather than later can save me a lot of ink or paper. This was easy, and quick to replace. This fit perfect, and a great value for the money.

Came without instructions in English. Had to go online and find out to install the new cartridge.
