Sweet Dreams/Dulces Suenos: Bilingual English-Spanish (My Family/ Mi Familia)

Very sweet book. A great introduction to bilingual for young readers. My littles love the story line and have had fun learning new vocabulary from it.

Aside from the bilingual content, this children's book has little to recommend it. After one reading my grandson never requested it again.

A bilingual bedtime book. Each page has text in English with the Spanish translation either directly below or on the opposite page. As a grandma/abuelita tucks in her three grandchildren, she tells them with gentle repetition to "Shh, shh" because the squirrels, bunnies, and other animals are already asleep. The rhythm carries through to the shining stars and smiling moon. At last, with a final "Sweet Dreams"/"Dulces Sueños," Grandma tiptoes out of the room. Author Mora is the founder of El Día de los Niños...Recommended, esp. for those libraries serving Spanish-speaking patrons
