Nope. You definitely have to seal them. I use Krylon Workable Fixatif if I want to use other wet media on top of them and that helps a lot.

Golden high flow acrylics holds the color with little fading. Expensive buy in the art department. If Michaels has it you may use a coupon. They come in one fluid oz. ten bottles for $35. Liquitex professional ink also expensive at Hobby Lobby but on sale $4.19.
