You get what you pay for.
My 2 fan laptop cooler broke down last week so I needed to replace it. I've never really thought that the underneath fans were great, better than nothing, so I thought to try this one. I do think it works. I like that the there is a temperature gauge that you can see if the temp is going up or down and that there are two speeds you can choose. The temp is in Celsius, which isn't a huge deal for me, but mentioning it as a head's up.What I don't like is the noise. It's definitely louder than my old fan which was fairly loud itself. The faster speed is louder than the slower one, but they both are still considerably noisy. It's more of a white noise so it doesn't bother me so much, but I do wish it was quieter. Also, the 4 suction cups that are supposed to adhere the fan base to the laptop don't work at all. Seriously, no suction. The weight of the laptop does keep it mostly in place as long as there is no movement. I plan on getting a bit of ticky tack and using that as a non permanent solution, but still, shouldn't need to do that at all.I do like that they sent 4 different sized silicon funnel things, so that I had options depending on the size of my laptop vent.Overall, I'm fairly happy with the cooler but with just a couple tweaks, it would be perfect and I'd be more likely to buy this one again. I'm definitely keeping this for now, but will be likely not be buying the same one/brand when I need a new one.Update: I've had this about 5 months and it's already failing. I've had it turn off when it was slight bumped. Usually, fans last at least a year, and this isn't even to 6 months and I have to replace it. Have to say, it's not worth it and I think I'm going back to an under the laptop fan.

It cools, just a tad loud.
It does the job! Really sucks the heat out of my laptop, and it seems reliable for the month I've been using it. My only complaint is that it is kind of loud/buzzy. But it's inexpensive, so I can definitely live with it.There are a selection of plastic/silicone pieces with which to make a reasonably good seal between the fan and the air vents on a laptop, so it seems versatile in that regards. There are two LED indicator colors for the fan control button, green for full speed, and blue for smart speed (when the fan speed is set by the unit based on temperature). Both seem to work fine. The thermometer readout is in Celsius, in half-degree increments.Remember that if the unit isn't turned on (button has green or blue LED lit), but is just plugged in, the thermometer will display a temperature but it won't be measuring the heat of the laptop, it will be showing the fan/room temperature. That is, it won't turn itself on -- you have to turn on the fan and have the button show the blue LED lit in order for the auto-temp-detection to change fan speeds.

SOMEBODY GIVING YOU A BEER WHO WHO BUILT THIS THING
Ok, let me explain, I do not usually leave reviews in my purchases, I'm too lazy to do it and amazon does not give me any benefits for it, I'm an extreme maniatico taking care of my electronic devices, my ipad, two laptops, I treat them better than my girlfriend . I always bought cooling pads for my laptops, but I noticed that the temperature sensors always indicated that it was hot, I bought two cooling pads with 5 5.5-inch fans and a fart of mine gave more air, they barely avoided overheating, sorry, DO NOT AVOID OVERHEATING , I bought this product a friend I recommend it, I did not believe it, I thought it was rubbish, I got it today and I installed it (I use it next to my cooling pad, which is how to use it with nothing). Before installing it my temperatures were 45-hdd core1 core 2 = 58.59, always, then I turned this thing on. Ls temperatures are down, this is no joke this thing works, I will buy another, for my second laptop, I recommend the cooling pads, because they separate your laptop from the table and create a flow of air, although their fans shoot less air Than my fart. But this if you refrigerate your computer, I recommend 100, well for the Chinese did something worthwhile, now buy another, Chinese take my damn money.

Great Help in Cooling my Laptop
It definitely helps cool my laptop and maintains the laptop temperature below 35 celsius. USB power source is a great idea. 2 downsides of this product are 1) bit noisy and 2) should have the power connection on the temperature display side so that the wire does not need to be flapped over the device to connect to the USB outlet. Other than that, it seems to work great so far...

Works in specific situation
The device seems to keep laptop cool but it is nearly impossible to use on lap. The unit requires a hard stable surface to stay in position. My HP dv6 laptop runs hot and disassembly to service cooling system is way too comp!ex. This seemed like a simpler alternative. If you use your laptop like a desktop it might work for you.

Vacuumed based systems depend on getting good connects with the fan output vent
Works well for me. Vacuumed based systems depend on getting good connects with the fan output vent...so this may not work as well with some computers. Check that your laptop as unobstructed fan vent that this will connect with.

Poor Quality
I loved the fan at first however i have been only using it for a few days now and the button on top that you press to turn it on specifically the Green light on the button started to flicker and now completely stopped working. When its on Auto mode (blue light) that one still works but when in manual mode (green light) Green light burned out. Makes me wonder how long the fan itself will last considering things are already breaking on it.

Useless! No way to secure it onto my laptop vent outlet!
I could not figure out any way that will fit the fan on my laptop. I have tried all the adaptors came in the pack and even tried different types of tapes. The 3 tiny suction cup in the package did not do anything at all!!. The fan will provide a weak suction when turn on to max, but because there is no way to secure it onto the laptop vent, it is useless. My laptop core temp actually increased a few degree compared to without it (because it is actually block the vent outlet). My laptop is Lenovo IdeaPad 570.
