Great literacy starters
This book is full of fantastic, short activities that are perfect for literacy starters. They can also be 'played' during any spare time you have (maybe a couple of minutes before lunch or at the end of the day). Suitable for all KS2 children (I teach y5), and could be easily adapted for younger children. I have noticed an improvement from all my children's sentence level work after playing a selection of these games for only a few weeks.

Very easy to se and realistic too
I was concerned that it may offer long and convoluted things to do within the classroom but actually a lot of the suggestions are really easy to follow and things that good, experienced teachers will probably do quite naturally. Some of us however need a helping hand and this has offered me a new perspective to some of those more challenging days.

Short easy ideas
This book includes lots of activities to include as mental/oral starters. Some could be extended into longer sessions. I like the ideas for improving spelling and have been focusing on these but I look forward to including other ideas in my lessons soon. Children quickly engage with the activities and gives them good strategies for their own learning
