Gives me waves that last all week!
I have medium long, medium thick hair that is difficult to make hold curls. Now, everyone’s hair is different but after having tried several strategies with these spoolies this is what works for me. At night after showering when my hair is wet I put about 2 tsps of American Crew extra hold gel, its for men (redken extra hold mousse wasn’t cutting it). Then I blowdry to where its between damp and lightly damp. I was getting annoyingly inconsistent results with lightly damp to dry hair. Then I put in the spoolies in the middle of my hair shaft, so there is room at the top and about 2-3” left out at the ends. If the spoolie falls out, I put more hair in it. The trick is making it tight enough so it will not fall out but still close, for me that’s a little over an inch width of hair. You want to tug after putting it in to make sure its taut. And I go to sleep.Because they are not too close next to my head, I can shift them around to have my head make contact with the pillow. Is it the most comfortable sleep? No. But it is hard to fall asleep for me most nights and I can still do it. Lately I have been waking up sporadically around 5am and taking them out, and this is VERY important otherwise the curls won’t last: I spray my whole head with hairspray. Then I quickly check to make sure all the strands around my face are curled. If there are missing or weird sections, I’ll dampen, then throw a couple spoolies back in and easily go back to sleep. When I wake up I have wavey hair that literally lasts all week! And I wear my hair up for work most days if not every day.By day four or five if the waves need a little pick me up I will spray deva curl curl refresher in and voila! Not as wavey as day one or two but my hair still looks styled and cute.I guess the whole process can be done while awake on the weekend. The best part is sitting around or sleeping while my hair does itself! Putting them in easy too with a hair divider. Oh and I did end up buying two sets, it was worth it for me. Not all my hair fit in one set.

Easy glam
I've been looking for curlers for years, however all I could find were flexible curling rods that emitted really harsh odors or foam rollers made from low-quality chemicals. For someone with an extremely sensitive nose, the curling rods and rollers were intolerable. The search for curlers continued until last week when I randomly saw Spoolies on Amazon. The product description said that they are manufactured in the USA with medical grade silicone, so I was very curious to try them. I'm so happy I did because Spoolies are indeed odorless, even when blow dried with heat!I should add that I have basically no skills or patience when it comes to styling my own hair, but Spoolies really are very easy to use. I found that they worked best when my hair was dry. On the first try, it took me only about fifteen minutes to get all 15 Spoolies in my hair (shoulder length). And after practicing a few times, I was able to get all of them in my hair within about six minutes. If you have difficult hair (very thick and straight) like me and want to keep your curls all day, I would recommend blow drying the Spoolies for a bit while they're in your hair, allowing them to cool down before removing, and adding some styling product. (Note that no heat is required in order to achieve beautiful curls, so blow drying is entirely optional. I just added that step for some extra staying power.)I'm still learning, but I can easily see Spoolies becoming a part of my daily routine. I'm especially happy because it's the holidays, and I can add some glam to my otherwise simple look!

Really just not a fan
I was so excited to try these. Per the instructions, I put them in freshly showered, damp hair. 1) sleeping on them was AWFUL, and I didn't even have them placed in the back of the head that takes the most pressure. 2) 1 pack wasn't enough because I have so much hair. 3) I woke up and my hair was still damp. It actually dried very little overnight. Because of this, my hair never set, and I still had to do hot rollers. I'd recommend just going the foam roller route. Easier, cheaper, and they actually work.

OK. But don't know if its for me.
These are very nice and they will curl your hair but I don't they don't work well for me. I have 4AB hair which is low porous. The first time I tried to use them the curlers kept sliding off even though my hair was damp. What made matters worse is when I woke up the next day my hair was still damp. This was horrifying because I was attending a special event this day. The second time I used the Spoolies was last night. This time I made sure my hair was almost bone dry - much drier than before. I got the same effects. The curlers kept slipping off which made me re-roll my hair again and again. When I went to take the Spoolies out my hair was still damp! I strongly suggest for anyone using this product to sit under a dryer especially if your hair is low porous. I will try again. Hopefully with better success otherwise they may make a great gift to someone else.

Love the product.
I am not good with a curling iron and these really work. Just a couple in the hair is all one needs.
