Bought these for my grandson and he loves them. I was leery about getting them after reading reviews about the awful smell. They have a faint mothball smell but the quality of the bugs makes up for it.

Beautiful, insects. The smell is, well strong, I am still airing it out and I've had it about 2 months but I don't mind. Comes with the territory.

Produce smelled so strongly of mothballs that we ending up placing it in a ziplock bag and storing it in the basement.

After several years it still smells bad and, i didn't know, but ordering this type of product to the US breaks the law.

Got this as an educational gift. One of the bugs was labeled "Long Bodied Bug". I originally thought that must be what it is called. But about an hour on google, and I cannot find the bug anywhere. I fear this might have been mislabeled? The same bug appears on one of the pictures on here as well. Something stigma? It's the red long bug with black tips on its wings.

Haven’t given These yet to my grandson as they are a Christmas gift. But they are so cool. Took awhile to revive and the smell ( probably formaldehyde) is very strong so I opened them and put the case in a protected place to air out a bit.
