Seriously, this lady has way too much clout. Why doesn't anyone stop her?Well, this volume was quick and had some laughs and some chuckles. I was pleased to see a story focusing on Tonomine for a while and I hope he gets together with that girl from the shop. But all in all, I felt that the part of the book concluding the "Ryo's moving away" storyline was both weak and improbable. Ryo's really tough, old, arrogant grandfather is allegedly ill, and she goes away to take care of him. The storyline is wrapped up in what seems like a few short pages with a "perhaps not so surprising" revelation about her grandfather.Then Asuka's mom shows up and starts terrorizing the high school. Grr, I really can't see how this part of the story is going to end, because so many people are involved in the school's restructuring. So I'm looking forward to volume 9! I'm going to go reread this now.

Once again, the artwork is lovely as is the story captivating. Otomen is a series I recommend on everyone's bookshelf. You won't be disappointed.

Sweet if a little sappy. For the most part it is about people finding themselves. A good solid read, my brother loves it. Recommended.

So Ryo is moving because her grandfather is not well and she wants to take care of him. Everyone wants to spends time with her before she is goes. After a bear scares them, Ryo tells Asuka that she loves him too. But it turns out that her grandfather is a secret otomen and discovers that Asuka is one too. Ryo and her grandfather move back and our two lovers are back together again. Then we have story about Hajime maybe finding love himself. Then Asuka's mother comes back to make everyone fit into traditional Japanese gender roles. Of course Asuka is worried about how this is going to work out and his mother really is going overboard because if the teachers and students do not follow the new rules they are out of the school. More cuteness and self-acceptance ahead!I give this volume a Five out Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Not quite a gender bender, but if you like that genre you'll like these books.
