I had to replace a 15 year old Pentair de filter. Read the reviews/comments on this item before the purchase and just as other buyers have stated it was an easy replacement. The old plumbing was a little higher than the inlet/outlet but a slight increase to my plastic base was all that was needed. Filter operates very well. The one negative is the drain plug is located just under the plumbing and a bit difficult to access-on the older model it was located on the other side and very accessible-but other than that the filter has performed as expected.

Efficient design, standard plumbing layout, easy install. The one difficult time I've found is the yearly time I remove the DE filter elements to clean them. They can be rather difficult to put back together again, although if you're good at puzzles and take good photos before you start, you'll be able to accomplish the goal. For me, the quality of the product and great job it does to keep our 20,000 gallon pool clean is worth the yearly inconvenience.

I ordered this product to replace a 15 year old Pentair DE filter and was concerned about the plumbing lining up. I saw a couple reviews where they had to place something under to get it to match up to the existing fittings so I was hopeful that would be my only challenge. After unboxing the new one and setting it in place, the old fittings and the new filter fit perfectly together without any modification to my pad.

My stainless steel DE filter had been in service since 1948 and had developed a leak at the seal that I could not fix, so I replaced it with this filter. It's working fine so far. I used the bulkhead fittings (purchased separately) and mated those to 2 inch to 1-1/2 inch PVC reducers to allow me to build with 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe to attach the filter to the system.My pool is crystal clear. I have not cleaned the filter yet and will adjust my rating if that proves to be problematic.

After only over a year all the grids came off and the manifold cracked. Defective product. Do not buy.

Wow! My pool company wanted $1900 to replace my 16 year old Nautilus FNS Plus,and for about 1/4 of that price, I did it myself! This model was the "new" model, since my old one was discontinued. I shopped around,and Amazon had the best price,and it was shipped in two days via Prime.Toughest part was getting it to the pool area,as I think it weighs about 65 pounds,and I weigh less than twice that.I had to purchase a 7/8" ratchet wrench and some silicone to grease the o rings,but other than that..EASY!! My unions hooked up perfectly since this was a direct replacement.Instruction manual was helpful. My pool company told me that the internet sells refurbished and old merchandise,which was why I was getting such a great price. THEY WERE WRONG! This product was brand new,never used,and came with everything I needed. One thing I should mention though is the warranty on this is 1 year if you have it professionally installed,and only 90 days if you do it yourself.
