Clean install for my new 2026 Honda Passport
Amazing product. Works like a champ. I had small issue and contacted tech support. It turns out it was self inflicted issue. They provided quick a response to my needs. Troubleshooting and testing etc. With their help the problem was resolved.

Check the listing for a harness if you need one. The knob is the only visible part.
I failed to realize this one came without the universal cable. I wound up getting a Tekonsha harness and adapting the terminals to fit the RedArc. Controller ziptied to dash frame left side of steering wheel and the knob mounted below the start button. A little higher up than I really wanted. I forgot how the angled trim above the lower dash panel overhangs the panel. Tested with my camper and works well.

Works awesome on my Toyota Tacoma 3rd gen TRD
This was plug and play (with the additionally purchased wiring harness) for my 2018 Taco. Extremely easy to install if you're handy. We use it when pulling our travel Trailor and have never had any issues.

Nice product.
Works great. Easier to install than older style controllers.

1 piece, simple-to-install & set up unit... just about monkey-proof. Set it & forget it!
BOTTOM LINE: 1-piece, mostly moron-proof unit that was surprisingly easy to install for a total newb like myself. Braking control adjustment was pretty intuitive: "set it & forget it" for me, since I'm not pulling trailers of different sizes or weights. For a "thrown together at the last minute" deal, I must say it all worked out great. 5 STARSTHOUGHTS: I was in a bind. Found new camper that ticked off all of wife's 'must-have' boxes. Arranged to go get it (600+mi 10.5hr drive, each way), etc., etc. Realized upon checking further that weight was 2800lbs, over a 1000 more than our old camper. And... being over 2500lbs - it had brakes! (Huh? What're those? LOL) So, I had to do a ton of research and YT video schooling over a weekend PLUS find a good, reliable, simple controller AND have it installed & ready for trip in less than 3 days! After a lot of reading and video reviews, I settled on Redarc Liberty Tow-Pro. Their over-priced special order mounting adapter wouldn't have arrived in time, so I fabbed my own mount out of scrap piece of 1x8 aluminum; cut down to 6.5" and rounded all corners & edges, to eliminate risk of slicing / cutting / scratching / tearing up anything (including me!) during install. I wanted it in a secure, out of the way spot. So, using the Taco's steering/airbag brace as the controller mounting location, I went to work.I used plastic washers to space the mount slightly off the brace, to give room for the Redarc mounting screw heads, so as not to put any stress on the unit's plastic housing when I tightened everything down. I even put a strip of 3M double-sided tape between the Redarc and the aluminum piece as extra insurance against movement of the unit as time goes by. A handful of leftover stainless steel nuts & bolts to secure everything and... Presto! I mounted the unit's control knob into the blank switch to the left side of the console, just below the cubby. I might move it someday, if I ever relocate my ECT switch to the gear knob, but since everything's working as it should (and I don't intend to monkey with the braking intensity settings now that it's all dialed in), I might just leave it as-is. This REDARC TOW-PRO LIBERTY unit was as close to a no-brainer install & set-up as it gets, IMHO. Highly recommended!

You'll need a non-LED tester for this one.
Haven't used with a trailer yet, so 4 stars. Just a FYI for new '25 4runner owners: the guides on forums seem to be wrong. There IS a service connector on the SR5 (w/o factory tow package), it's about another 8" up in the dash almost behind the round hole where a flashlight is on the TRDs. That plug and the Tow-Pro Brake Controller Harness (TPH-021) along with a non-LED tester got me ready to get my new trailer. LED 7-pin tester I bought didn't seem to have enough resistance to trick the Liberty into thinking a trailer was connected. jumpered in an old style bulb (to the tester) and it all works now.

Reliable
I’ve had this product for a couple years now. No complaints. I don’t ever think about it, and most of the time forget it’s there. It is just something built into my truck, at this point. Trailer brakes work flawlessly, with no hiccups.

Great upgrade
Installed this to replace a Tekonsha P2 in my Tacoma. The P2 is rather huge, and even with the ability to mount it angled, it's hard to find a good spot for it in a non-fullsize truck. I had ended up mounting it in a storage cubby, which was rather a pain to accomplish, and took up valuable stick-stuff-somewhere space.I installed the Tow-Pro in conjunction with taking a bunch of my lower dash apart anyway, so I had the advantage of an easy view & working room... which was a great help. Strongly recommend pulling the knee panel and/or glove box, so you don't end up with it zip-tied to the outside of the knee panel or side of the center console, like some installs I've seen... there's room somewhere under your dash! I zipped 2 small screws into a ledge near my fuse box, worked great & has easy access for the vehicle harness & the cable for the button, all hidden by the knee panel.Kudos for using an RJ45 connector for the button. It's compact enough to thread through the stuff under a dash, it's easily replaced, and if you had a really complicated install, you can even make your own custom cable & only need a ~5/16" hole, and crimp a new plug on in place. Only slight criticism is the button assembly ends up being pretty deep (I didn't measure, but I'm thinking close to 1.5") by the time you plug in even a right-angle cable, which didn't matter to me since I'm using a Toyota switch bezel, but is something to consider if you're wanting to mount it in a hole you drilled somewhere in a dash or console... it's not uncommon to not have a ton of depth before hitting something behind a panel... flatter & wider would seem better to me rather than skinny & deep.As far as operation, it does what I need to do (make the occasional trailer I tow with brakes slow me down) just fine... I waffled between this & the Elite, and couldn't see doubling the price for only an improvement in off-road towing... but then, that's not something I do. Almost as importantly, the other 99.9% of the time I'm not towing something with brakes, it does exactly what I want- nothing! My P2 I ended up putting on a removable mount, because any time it was connected, it'd fire itself up with almost no provocation... just opening a door would have it sitting there lighting up for 5 minutes, for some reason. I was considering Tekonsha's dash-knob controller as well, and that was a big negative in its corner for me.
