The motor that moves the laser back and forth was stiff and wouldn't move the laser. I had to take the laser off and put it on another deck which fixed my problem. Also the seller stated that this was a brand new product but clearly it was either used or badly refurbished. If you need a laser, get it. If you need a deck, I would look elsewhere.

My disk drive died in my PS3. I needed another and this was a great replacement. of course my PS3 is no longer backwards compatible, but it was not disc compatible so I upgraded in a sense. you can get a great videos on the replacement. It took ten min to get this thing in.

I bought this to replace the one that wouldn't work and it still didn't work. So I'll be returning this tomorrow

This kit, plus a couple of YouTube videos, made changing out my damaged lens assembly a 10-minute job with perfect results. Been using it a few weeks so far and no hiccups. If you've gone through all of the PS3 software fixes from the utilities menu and nothing worked, this is the answer.

Worked like a champ after re-aligning all the components. Had to replace due to motor failure, the optics still worked but the disc would not spin up anymore.You can search youtube for videos on how to, otherwise you may have to take this to a repair shop to have a proffessional install.

It was late in delivery and it's defective, now I have to return this one and hope you have one that isn't already busted.

Had to do a lot of research and cross checking to ensure I got the right one for my older PS3. This one arrived as promised and installed easily. Cured the problem. Back into Red Dead Redemption and boppin' bunnies. :-)

it had water damage. Would not work !!!!! got ripped off, never again !!
