Fantastic
Alright, so I got this a few days earlier than expected so bonus! So I'll go over it real quick. the fittings are solid brushed metal, they were both in halves at one point, but were welded and ground to a finish so it looks like one piece. They did an excellent job of hiding that fact. there is one screw in each metal fitting holding it to the wood in addition to being glued or something (I tried to remove the pieces after unscrewing and couldn't) so they are attached well. However, they are not so well attached as to have no wiggle. You can move them a tiny bit, but that is not a problem at all. The leather is nice and smooth and soft. It is stitched down the back, and mine has a bump where the stitching is for part of the way( the fold under of the excess material present from a stitch), but is not there for the rest of the stitch, weird, but not a problem at all. The leather strap that comes with it is removable by simply sliding it off which I was greatly relieved to discover. The strap IS leather, but not the same leather as the rest of the scabbard. It is same color but is not treated and smoothed, so it is the fuzzy kind, ya know what I'm talking about. Anyways, I have the museum collection sting, and as advertised it does fit, however there are a few problems. The hilt and pommel on my sting are weathered more than the fittings, so it looks like the sheath was put away for a few hundred years while the sword got weathered... Well whatever, not a big deal. So the lock mechanism is kinda iffy on mine. It is tough to put it in the last five inches or so as it should be, then clinks really hard shut. But it slides out really easily unless I ease the sword into place, then it locks, kind of. So I don't know if that is just a defect on my sheath, my particular sword, the museum collection sword, or if that's how its supposed to be. I hang it next to my sting on a simple tiny nail. I have a tiny leather string looped around the belt loop to hook on the nail and it is invisible when hung, perfect! So overall it's a beautiful addition to my collection and am glad I got it. Well, "that's all I have to say, about that."

Gorgeous product
I've bought this for my Museum edition of Sting, and I really like it.It fits the sword nice and snuggly; altho some times, for some strange reason, the sword get stuck halfway; I just pull it out and put it in the scabbard again and it fits nicely. Not sure if is a defective scabbard or if all of them are like that; but it won't really affect the experience overall. I just mentioned it, in case that someone experience the same and gets concerned that his item may be broken or defective. The finishing is great; it match perfectly the finishing of the sword; it is pretty robust and solid, but keep in mind that the metal and the leather has to be taken care of, so once in a while use the right products (nothing too aggressive for the metal, or you may remove the aged stain that they put on it, same goes for the leather). The only thing that tick me off a bit, is that on the back you can see 2 screws, which hold the metal finishing. I would not expect to see them, since the other scabbard that I own (Glamdring) has none. IF you never turn the scabbard around you can live without even knowing that the screws are there.Get it, is a great item for your sword, and fits also the museum collector edition

I am the spider's bane
Great item!! I have the LOTR version of Sting and it still fits in this scabbard. It took me a few times placing and removing the sword to get the hang of it. It is a tight fit and you will want to be careful to not immediately shove the sword in there as it can show some marks on both the opening of the scabbard and the hilt of the sword if you bang them together while placing it in the scabbard too many times. There is a slight locking mechanism on the scabbard where it will prevent the sword from falling out which is great especially if you are hanging it on a wall. This has amazing quality and is a great collectible. I am going to hang my LOTR version and purchase the Hobbit version with a stand for this scabbard. Great item, great price and incredibly fast shipping!**Edit** I have noticed little friction marks on the hilt of Sting from placing it in the scabbard too many times. Quick fix? Get some felt with adhesive from any arts and crafts store, problem solved and it isn't visible when Sting is in the scabbard!!

Works well with Nobel Collection Sting
Understand that this scabbard does not come from the WETA Workshop, so if you have visions of a collectable addition to your Sting, do not go this route. But if you want the fun of having your not-really-expensive-anyway Sting in a look-alike scabbard, then I'd vote yes here. It looks really nice with some simulated leather and metal decorations. Plus, it fits will the Nobel Collection version of Sting. I am glad of this purchase. The duo go well together. And my wife, to whom this present was given, loves to pull Sting out and hear the twang.

Pretty Cool
I recently got the Lord of the Rings version of Sting, and decided to get this scabbard to go with it. It fits the sword pretty well, although there is a slight gap by the hilt. It’s not enough for me to return it, but they didn’t match quite as flush as I would’ve hoped for the price. On the back, there’s a built in belt loop if you want to wear it, along with the leather belt strap.I did have to drill new holes in my display to widen it so that Sting could be displayed with the scabbard on. I don’t know if the Hobbit version of Sting comes with a wider display, but the LotR Sting’s display was too narrow to display with the scabbard on.Overall, pretty happy with everything even though I had to make some minor adjustments.
