I use these tie downs for all sorts of things. They are definitely not just for securing a Kayak to your vehicle!They work well to keep gas cans, 20lb propane tanks, tarps tied down over a load of mulch, etc. nice and secure in the back of my pickup truck. They also work great to keep just about any lighter weight item you can think of secure inside, on top or in the back of your vehicle or trailer.I would not recommend tying down a motorcycle or boat for transport down the road with these as they are just too light weight for items such as those.They simply work by hooking the hooks that are secured to the rope to a tie down point or similar then just pulling the other free rope to tighten them up. When you need to remove them a quick press of the release lever loosens the tension for removal and storage.

These are great, easy & quick Tie-Downs to have around. Tent, pop up tents, pool cover, car hatch when needed tie-down, tying down outdoor Christmas decorations- etc etc.

These are the best ratchet pulleys on the market this size works well for kayaks on a ruffia car.I also use it for hanging stuff.In a garage works great.No complaints

I have an older 1990's storage topper that used strap attachments to the vehicle gutter strip above doors. Newer vehicles no longer have gutters to attach to, and our Suburban's framing doesn't easily promote use of the topper without some significant modifications. I was able to use three attachment methods to safely stow and travel with this older topper system - these Kayak ratcheted tie downs were a major component in the success. They remained tight without any need for snugging them down during the entire trip. Perfect sized length and strength to wrap them over the topper and tie down to added hooks to the upper vehicle's framing. Only required use of 2 tie downs; but felt comfortable having the other 2 if needed. Very happy with these for any future use in travels down the road. Looking into using them to provide a lift mechanism to raise the topper and store in the tall garage. Sturdy and easy to use.

Bought this to hold down my kayak during a long road trip. It was easy to use. It was durable through the torrential downpours and high speeds (80mph) for the many hours on the road. It didn't loosen at all or become unhooked.Product is as described and a great value.
