Still playing with the settings but it works
I'm still fiddling with the settings and the motion detection but it works well. I haven't had to try night vision as the lights outside the flats are on 24/7 so I can't comment on that.I like having the ability to focus where the motion sensors pick up anything, we have a set of stairs by our door so if anyone goes upstairs it does trigger it, but it's been fun to play with at least. The battery is OK, thought I'd charged it up on day 1 but it hadn't for some reason, so by day 3 it was alerting me that the battery was at 30% but its easy to unscrew to take inside to charge. Battery was at 90% after a couple of days, but we do get some foot traffic so I assume that's the reason even though I have toned down the sensitivity. It's easy to set up and connect to the app, some reviews said people had issues with connection and, whilst ours does sometimes say it has poor WiFi connectivity, it still works and it's not that close to the Internet box thing so i haven't had to move the box and it all works OK.Picture quality is good but I have turned the sound off because, personally, I wasn't sure where we stood legally as it does cover the entrance to the flats, but we've had a lot of random people coming round periodically, we had someone use our address for some reason so I've had some dodgy people at the door before, but the camera puts them off.It also covers quite a wide area, I've adjusted the focus area a bit to help save battery, but I'm happy with it.It was worth buying, you can adjust the settings so it isn't triggered by every small movement and I've got the subscription so I can use all the extras that you don't get without the subscription, although it's a shame it's £4 a month. Still better than I thought it was going to be.

Brilliant!
Well, i've had this Ring doorbell a couple of weeks now and i'm very pleased with it, although there is one issue. Notifications on my phone are taking 30 secs to 1 min to come through, which seems to be a common complaint from other sites i've read reviews on. Ring seem to always say it's slow wifi to blame, but it isn't. I have 500mb broadband and by my front door, i have download speeds of 20mb, so i know it isn't the wifi. So, what i've done, is installed the app on my tablets and linked it to Alexa, which appears to be much better, as notifications are near instant!. Something i think should have been put on the camera, is an SD card slot to record motion, rather than be forced to subcribe to a cloud system, which apparently is now £5 per month. The camera itself is brilliant, easy to set up and very sharp picture wise, even at night. Audio is superb on the two way speaker and recording. I don't know how long the battery would last, because i purchased the adaptor for it and hardwired it, as i don't want to be charging the battery all the time. I also purchased the Ring chime as well, which is easy to set up and provides extra warning. All in all, great camera and well worth the money. One thing i am reading alot about, is that this camera comes with two security screws for the bottom, but people are losing them and sticking wood screws in instead, DON'T, because you will screw into the battery and short it out, so if you lose the screws, get onto Ring who will send replacements.
