Incredible Blade, Incredible Price
I’m so impressed with this knife. Perhaps it’s my own ignorance, but I assumed a sanmai Damascus blade of this quality would be priced much higher.

Not perfect. But close.
I have spent some time this knife now and the honeymoon is over. Not that it's bad, but it's not perfect;Blade - this is the showpiece here. For petes sake, if you are buying this knife spring for the few extra bucks and get the Damascus steel. It's worth every penny. I have been playing with knives and sharpening them by hand for 50 years. There is dull, sharp, very sharp, razor sharp and scary sharp. This one arrived scary sharp. It's holding an edge very well with the occasional light stropping with a very fine grit (1000) needed to get scary back. My usual test is to shave my arm. I didn't even feel it shaving. Unreal. And the blade itself is a freaking work of art.Clip - eh. It looks great. But tension is not very tight and with the material the scales are made of it doesn't have a tight grip. I suspect it wouldn't take much to adjust it. The clip is held on with a large headed screw so that might be a project at some point.Scales - I like black so I got the black micarta. They are made beautifully and fit well.Deployment - meh. The thumb studs are hard to reach and when you finally get the blade moving it feel like you are going to lose control; of the knife. Fixing this would require moving the studs forward, making them wider, or moving the handle back a bit. It's an easy fix but should not have shipped until this usability issue was addressed.Assembly - perfect. I can't find an issue with it. It's held together with torx head screws and it's open frame. Blade is dead center. Nicely done.Lockup - when you get the blade out it locks in place with a dignified thud. Not the shotgun slide crack of so many framelocks. And it's solid.Oh yeah - did I say to get the damascus steel? It's beautiful - worth a few extra bucks.

Disappointed
The knife looks nice but the blade has to be sharpened after almost every use. Even after a day of fishing and only cutting fishing line. I have had this knife for four years and stopped carrying it after two because the blade was so difficult to keep sharp. Contacted the manufacturer for a replacement stainless blade but have never heard back. The Damascus blade definitely looks cool but it is worthless if you ever want to use it more than once or twice before sharpening it.
