why do you crimp the connector 3x? One for each wire, what is the 3rd?

I’m not sure why you have to crimp 3x’s unless their tool is designed that way? I only crimped twice in my engine compartment of my pickup and have had no issues.

Will these work for 10/2 wire at 230V and 20 amps?

You should be able to use on 230 volt 20 amp. The yellow should handle 30 amp minimum. Usually if the wires fit in it. It will work

Do you have the Butt connectors that are 12-10 on one end and 16-14 on the other

No, they are the same on each end. The colors indicate the size, as well they are labeled.
