The product is wonderful - easy to use, connects automatically to my Surface 4. One caveat I did not see in the in the description the USB C can’t be used for video. I purchased an adapter with the intent to plug into the USB C for dual monitors it does not work. I had to resort to an alternative adapter for the USB A that provides ability to plug 2 HDMI. Understanding I could have used the 1 HDMI cables. Understanding I could use the 1 HDMI available the adapter with 2 ports just made more sense for my use.

Great product worked on my surface pro 4 perfectly

TL;DR: This is not beveled so it does not fit snugly to the Surface Pro 4 resulting in random disconnecting/reconnecting at best, and no connection at worst. Lasted 2 uses with external monitor.I originally bought this adapter so I could hook up a portable monitor to my Surface Pro 4. I use my Surface for a part-time job where I need to be HIPAA compliant and have a machine dedicated to just work. Since I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new laptop for a part-time job, I decided to use my perfectly good Surface. The problem with the SP4 is that, because it's older, it's hard to find a portable 2nd monitor and a mini display cord that go together. This adapter was supposed to be my answer to the problem by allowing my SP4 to accept a portable monitor as a 2nd display via an HDMI (on this adapter side) and mini-HDMI (on the portable monitor) cord.It worked twice, barely. My SP4 kept making the happy-sounding noise that Windows products make when you plug in a new peripheral and then making the sad sounding chime it makes when you unplug a peripheral.The problem with this adapter is that the side of the SP4 is beveled toward the back, but the adapter is not beveled. It's just a rectangle. This results in a non-secure fit and a loose connection.I really wanted this to be an answer for me, but it caused more frustration than anythingIt also got HOT if I left it plugged in to my SP4 even without anything plugged into the adapter.I returned it.

Tried to connect to my Samsung 4K 32 inches monitor with my SP6, but the highest resolution can reach is 1920x1080 @ 60hz, any higher resolution (either 60Hz or 30hz) will not works. Disappointed.

Practical solution to the lack of HMI port.
