I have an XL bale buddy already and decided to order a small because I love it so much but my bales are much smaller this year. I ordered a small but received a large. My hay is coming today so I dont have the time to reorder and return :( Otherwise I love using bale buddies! The hay is so much more controllable with only a tiny bit going to waste. They are easy to clean and manage. I have a horse who insists on trying to stand on top of the bale and the bale buddy holds up to his scrambling to climb it LOL. I keep mine in their shelter so rain isn't an issue for me, but if you keep it outside then yes, its going to get wet. It shields a little bit of rain and it will drain out of the bottom but it will still get wet and have a hard time drying.

Perfect size for smaller round bales and keeps my horses from wasting so much hay.

Does not work like described. Not worth the money.

I purchased the "small" and I feed 4ft rounds this thing has a base diameter of at least 6ft. It does not fit snug around the bale at all, the opening is literally as big as the entire bale. It's so loose I have some safety concerns. I am using it in conjunction with a Hay Chix slow feed net, so I had high Hope's of it working to contain loose hay, but I don't know how it will work. I'm hoping once the bale loosens up it will fill out the bag a bit, but this may not work for me at all. So, bad review is for completely wrong sizing. Otherwise, I suppose it is just a big bag and there's not many ways to screw that up.

I bought two of these. 1 in April (which I love) and one in July (which I hate). I bought the exact same size, but the July bale buddy is much larger, falls off the bale and causes hay to be wasted. I'm not sure if the company accidently put a larger size in the package for the smaller bale buddy or if they are just that inconsistent with their product. Either way I spent a lot of money on two bales buddies of the same size and the size isn't consistant and one is not useable.
