Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod

Sturdy!! Strong!!

Does everything a casting rod should do at the beach. Plenty of power. Foam grips are ok, but to be expected for the price range. Zero complaints. Ugly Stik tends to meet a great durability vs cost point. A little heavier than higher end rods, but I don’t spend every weekend surf fishing.

I can't say enough good things about this rod. Uglysticks are my go to when durability and depandability are important. I've got these on all my coastal setups and even have one for targeting bass at the lakes. Just get it you wont regret it.

I receive a refund for a ugly stick fishing rod because it was lost in delivery so I ordered a different rod. Then the day it arrived so did the ugly stick. But the ugly stick was only package in plastic sleeve and only the bottom have came. Now I've got to spend money and time to take to Paducah ky. To send 1/2 of rod back

The grip is comfortable and non-slip, even when wet, and the reel seat feels secure. I’ve used it for bass and trout fishing so far, and it handled both with ease. It’s also easy to transport — breaks down nicely without taking up much space.

Well, it's a good thing these Ugly Sticks are tough rods because Amazon shipped this to me completely unprotected aside from a very flimsy oversized cardboard box which showed signs of being retaped enroute. I could hardly believe the rod wasn't broken when I opened the carton. A small nick or two seems to be the worst of the damage it suffered.The rod is quite stout and a tad heavy, but not overly so, and the guides are functional looking, not my favorite but OK. One of the guides was wrapped a bit off center, but not enough to be a problem.I will update this when the rod gets fished, but for now it seems a good buy for the price. Made in China, but I don't think that's a big surprise to anyone. If you fish enough, you'll run into expenses getting the right gear, and sometimes it helps to be able to acquire a serviceable rod at a moderate price, which is exactly what this one looks to be.

I purchased this pole for my husband's Father's Day gift and he loved it! He has always used Ugly Stick poles for their durability and performance for river and lake fishing. So when we somehow misplaced the top portion of his former deep sea fishing pole (he had only had it for a few days before we headed home from the beach). I knew exactly what to order. He loved it so much he went and got the reel from the Wrath pole and immediately put it on his new Big Water Ugly Stick!!! Invest in a pole that will last.
