Perhaps the best part of the game
My opinions on the game may be harsh and expansive but it was fairly universal that everyone loved the artstyle 343 finally landed on. The hyper detailed halo 4 always felt like a bit too much while halo 5 just took some things too far, felt all over the place, and messed with the color pallet and armors to much backlash but, Infinite nailed it. Fantastic textures, designs, thematic continuity, and colors all worked wonderfully where even on the base Xbox one, the game looked incredible. Dark horse yet again provides an immaculate, clean, and beautifully made artbook with fantastic design, binding, and quality. For such a massive game (production time wise) the book really isn't all that big, exactly 200 pages including the acknowledgements. Organization is good, simple flow through characters, factions, weapons, etc. But the level of detail given to a lot of things is minimal. True iteration explorations on designs are few and far between. Commentary is good and everything has credit given to the artist. You get a feel for who is good at what and their individual styles or differences. There is quite a bit missing from the book however...UNSC Character section is okay. Chief gets what he deserves for the most part, detailing the callback to the old and new additions like the spine. You can get what they were going for with the pilot. The spartan armor section has the most iterative sketches in the book (almost as it should be…) but sadly, it matches the game where it's based on "armor cores." It's quite literally sketch pieces overlayed on a base. It very much shows what does and doesn't work though, some pieces meld it and match well while others look extremely out of place. Overall, I liked the very heavily armored designs and the starting recruit armor is pretty good imo. Helmets are a bit all over the place, and after a few seasons of in-game content its all round better than Halo 5 but that's quite a low bar. No Cortana or "the weapon" page though?Vehicles section, just like the game, is very lackluster. Very few to begin with and not very interesting or conceptual to look at. Ship sections are alright and it's funny that their designs mostly look like weapons. The brute vehicles are a bit more engaging to go through but at the end of the day, if you played Halo Wars 2, it won't be all that new. I liked the demolished vehicle sketches in some of them. And they didn't even include the one flyable UNSC vehicle into the book either. Still no dang Falcon too!Weapon sections are really hit or miss. Some weapons have iteration, some don't (and it doesn't matter if it's new or not). A lot of weapons are just missing: no assault rifle, battle rife, sniper, gravity hammer, energy sword, or even Skewer! There's NO way they didn't go through a bunch to get the skewer down. Also no unreleased weapons, which was already incredibly interesting. Very bland and perhaps the worst section in the book.Enemies section is eh. Brutes have a lot of iteration for armor, no so much body designs though. Grunts have some fun backpack sketches. I like the "spartan killer" segments, they're all cool special ops designs. Sadly, there is a bit missing here too: little display of elite type enemies (and the few that are there aren't labelled), no boss section (despite it being a pretty big part of the game), and no Hunters! The ring section is the best imo and all landscape paintings in general are all fantastic. From years and years ago the leaked (or released) concept art looked amazing and you'll recognize some of them here if you remember them. The ideas they had for Zeta Halo were great and the team definitely flew with it. I loved seeing the evolution of the paintings as well. You can see Chief in his Halo 4-5 armor in some of them so you know it was done a long time ago. The end of the book closes with super early brainstorming concepts (not game implemented) which all look phenomenal. I'd easily buy art prints of some of them. All in all, eh. The landscape and paintings might make this book worth getting for some and it is all drawings, paintings, and sketches, not many (if any) game models. There is a lot not included which is a huge turnoff and a lot of asset material is not shown conceptual or with iterations. The Limited edition isn't really worth it. The hard case sleeve is okay (a bit flashy and standout-ish being Chief's armor) but you really get extra is a small print of a painting. I'd stick with the regular artbook. That said though, I can't list off every artist but I'd like to shout out David Heidhoff, Especially Olsen Sætervik, and of course Sparth. The Halo IP has always had phenomenal artists and ideas and with all the constant departures from the 343 team (including recent layoffs), I hope the art team itself remains a strong bunch of great and dedicated individuals.

Amazing Piece for the Collection
For any collector of Halo media/collectibles, it is a worth while piece. The cover and case of the book is just as beautiful as the artwork in it's pages. Whether you like the game or not, as a fan of Halo, the art is very mesmerizing to look at and just see the many styles brainstormed for the production of the game. It fits well with my collection of Halo-related gear, as it would with any other collector.

Must buy for Halo fans
I was sure it would be high quality but still I was surprised by how good it was. So happy I chose this instead of the non deluxe edition (at the time of purchase it was around 350 sek/35 euros so it was too good to pass to buy).
