Excellent, Sturdy Mobility Aid
The "hybrid" model has been perfect for my non-weight bearing needs. The larger front wheels allow it to traverse hardwoods, low to medium pile carpet, area rugs - all with ease. Additionally, on sidewalks and paved drives, this is sturdy and able to cover ground. Having the smaller back wheels helps prevent the dreaded "running over your foot" that I have heard others complain of.- Assembly was performed by my husband who *gasp*, looked at the directions, and found them clear- Make sure that you have a tire pump for the front tires - they came relatively deflated and needed to be inflated to 35 PSI.Steering is more nimble than I expected however the turning radius is by no means tight (I get it, prevents tipping). It is still easy to maneuver and light enough that you can pivot with it to reposition if needed. The steering mechanism was a bit tight at first however this has significantly improved. The brake locks for safety and both the knee pad and handle bars are adjustable to maintain the best possible postural mechanics. I have found the knee pad more than sufficient and the basket extremely helpful. For transport, it does not fold however it fits in the back of our SUV (X7). You can lower the handlebars to improve clearance.Overall I am extremely happy with this model (after way too much time spent considering the many options!) and will keep this long term for potential future needs.

Life Changjng Mobility
I recently broke a bone in my foot for which I was given crutches by the hospital ER I was seen at. I’m 69 years old, 5’-9”, 175# with two bad shoulders but otherwise in good physical condition. Not having used crutches in over 30 years, I had forgotten what a nightmare crutches were.We searched the web reading dozens of reviews on the various knee walkers available, and quite honestly found very few helpful. Being mechanically gifted myself I did my research and reviewed the mechanics of several models, the ease of assemble, and overall weight, eventually finding the KneeRover Hybrid Knee Walker checked the most boxes for my requirements. We ordered my KneeRocer on Thursday afternoon and received it Saturday morning. Upon arrival we found the KneeRocer well packaged and wrapped with foam to prevent damage or scratching. Assembly was made very easy with easy to follow instructions that were very clear. There are three bolts with washers to assemble the front steering axle (tools included), sliding the detached seat and handle bar into place and adjusting your height preferences. Fit and finish of all components was excellent. At the time I wrote this review I had used the KneeRocer for two days and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s changed my life and how I will do things for the next 8 weeks. Our home, driveways, and sidewalks are all on one level so I’m able to skate to all areas of my home and garage with ease. The small basket allows me to carry small items including self protection and EDC for the 2A minded. 😎Pros1. Quick delivery and solid packaging2. Ease of assembly and adjusting the seat and handlebars.3. Top shelf construction and finish.4. Weighing in at just under 25# the KneeRover is easily transportable.5. Stability for a reasonably healthy person is excellent.6. The knee pad is very comfortable. (A common complaint we read in reviews on other models.)Cons1. The KneeRocer requires removing or loosening adjustment pins on the handlebars and seat to fully collapse the KneeRover to its smallest configuration. This may be a concern for those with subcompact cars. We knew this before purchasing the KneeRocer so it wasn’t a negative for us.Note: It is important to know that any small framed wheeled device like the KneeRover has its limitation. For those who may have balance or stability issues, or for those who live in a multi level home or apartment, a knee Walker may not be right for you. If you have any questions or reservations over stability, I would strongly recommend you consult with your doctor before purchasing any type of Knee Walker device. For some a wheelchair or other medical aid may be more appropriate.

My Cadillac of Knee Scooters!
I just had my 6th ankle surgery yesterday. I ordered this scooter before my surgery to compare with the el-cheapo scooter that I bought used from a friend and I used after surgery #5. I hated that thing. I have rented and purchased. Renting cost ~$200 per month. That calculates to: (6 weeks = 300)+(4 weeks = 200)+(6 weeks = 300)+(6 weeks = 300)+(el-cheapo = 75) = $1,175 I spent on scooters that had short turn radius, poor breaking and difficulty changing surfaces. I was fed up! I decided to buy this scooter and have a side by side comparison. All of my previous scooters were a rip off in comparison to the Knee Rover Hybrid (KRH). Of course, I had no idea I would have 6 surgeries over 7.5 years. Let’s talk about some qualities:KNEE IRRITATION: All knee scooters are going to make your knee sore. You can add padding but it will still hurt your knee. Our knees are not meant to carry our weight that way. Compare with crutches and maybe you will feel better about your knee. In my side by side comparison, my knee hurt dramatically less than the KRH compared to el-cheapo.ASSEMBLY: I am a 55 yo woman with a trick ankle. I could not have assembled this by myself because I can not get low enough to doe what is needed. My husband did the assembly. For him it was easy. This is why I gave assembly a 4.STEERING: the Knee Rover has amazing steering because the axle works like a car and it’s turning radius is amazing! I’m easily navigating around the house without picking it up by the handle bars or making 9-point turns just to corner a hall. I find it very easy to steer a set around with. El-cheapo will be donated as soon as we can set to the donation center!SURFACE CHANGES: We have tile and hardwood with a variety of rugs. ALL previous scooters required me to lift the front tires to change from a hard floor to a rug. Not the Knee Rover Hybrid. It takes these surface challenges beautifully and easily. Zero effort on me.WHEELS / TIRES: most scooters have wheels reminiscent of giant in-line skate wheels. Fine, but, once you know the difference between wheels and the tires on the Knee Rover, you will never go back to wheels again! The front tires did not come fully inflated. We have a bicycle pump so it was no big deal. If you order one of these, add a bike pump if you don’t already have one in the garage.TURNING / STABILITY: First, if you are using ANY knee scooter, you are using it because you were previously hurt. This is not a toy and you should be in control at all times. If you turn to sharp or are going too fast or are just getting used to your meds, you could get hurt on ANY scooter if you don’t stay in control. With that said, I am finding the Knee Rover to be stable, mostly because of the width of the front tires and 2 rear wheels. Also, I am not a cornering speed demon. It turns really well for me.BRAKING: This thing has real brakes. All of the other scooters I used had brakes similar to what you find on a wheel chair lock. You know, the piece of bent metal that pushes against the wheel to make it stop. Not here. These are real brakes and I find them very easy to operate and feel significantly more secure and in control than on any other scooter!SUMMARY: Yes, the price tag feels high at first. But you get what you pay for. Get it BEFORE surgery if you can so you can practice on it and get used to how to maneuver. I wish I had not wasted money over the years and had found this one first.
