I just bought my first Le Creuset pan, the Everyday pan. I bought these at the same time to ensure I didn't burn my hands. They work great when I remember to use them! I have full control of the pan for moving it on my cooktop and pouring if need be. They also match my pan's color, which is important to me. I would not have a Le Creuset pan without the silicone helpers.

When you’ve had a pot roast in the oven for 3 or 4 hours, you don’t want to struggle to remove from that oven a VERY heavy & VERY hot Le Crueset lidded Dutch oven. I just didn’t feel I had a good enough grip on my pot roast with my silicone oven mitts, so I decided to break the bank again for a Le Crueset product and ‘invest’ in these custom fitted oven mitts. They really do make a difference in giving you a secure hold on your Dutch oven. And as I have both a very large one & a small one, it’s a good deal that the mitts fit all size LC Dutch ovens.

You can not cook with them on. You only place them on after you are finished cooking as these do get hot from the casserole.

I used other types of grips but I felt the heat, and cleaning them was not easy. Afterwards the grips looked terrible with stains, even after washing. But these grips look new all of the time. When I am cooking at 500 degrees, my hands feel safe gripping the pot with these grips. The material "grabs" the metal and I never feel any slipping, and if you cook a lot, you know the issues that come with cheap grips. Washing and drying these grips is in minutes. Plus, these grips do not take up any space in my kitchen drawer.
