Update: Waterdrop contacted me and offered a complimentary replacement as well as a water pitcher. Once received, it appeared they had updated their instructions to make it easier to use. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and level of customer service.It's easy to insert and remove, but once it was inserted into the machine, it started saying "Add Water" repeatedly whether in cleaning mode or ice making mode. So the water wouldn't easily flow through the filter. This is on my GE Opal 2.0 Ice Maker. Ultimately I only got it to work by soaking it in a glass of water to submerge it to fill it with water. Then I started a cleaning cycle and confirmed there was suction from the input. Then I quickly added the submerged filter and it finally started working. It's been working for 2 days now. We will see. Better instructions and troubleshooting guide would be extremely helpful.Update: Waterdrop contacted me and offered a complimentary replacement as well as a water pitcher. Once received, it appeared they had updated their instructions to make it easier to use. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and level of customer service.

I started using this brand when I first bought my EG Opal ice maker. I have a lot of calcium in my water, these do a great job filtering it out.

I always use filtered water in my Opal (v. 1) machines (yes, plural) but wanted to add an additional layer of filtration so I purchased these filters. I started to get error messages after replacing the filter, so I pulled out my back up Opal (so I could clean my first machine) and inserted a new filter into it and proceeded to get the same error messages. Clearly the issue is the filter. Removed the filter and everything is working fine.UPDATE: Originally I gave Waterdrop a 2 star review. They reached out to me and offered to replace the filters. I told them I didn't want to risk trying them again. They then reached out again and offered to refund my purchase as well as pitching in a little monetary compensation for the hassle of cleaning out my machines. Very pleased with this level of customer service. If I need a filter for something less finnicky than my Opal I'd definitely consider doing business with them again.
