Philosophy Hope in a Jar Biome-Balance Glow Serum is a clear, lightweight serum with hyaluronic acid, prebiotics and an undisclosed % of one of the best forms of vitamin C (ascorbyl glucoside or AA2G). I’m 55+ and have dry, sensitive skin. I don’t get irritation from this serum despite chemical fragrance. I find the scent light and pleasant, and it dissipates quickly once applied. I use this serum after cleansing (or toning) and before my moisturizer. My skin absorbs it easily and doesn’t feel sticky after use. This serum quickly provides noticeable hydration, softer skin and plumping that makes my fine lines look less noticeable. These benefits last all day but are temporary like other hyaluronic acid serums. While I’ve used many hyaluronic acid serums and have found a few that comfort and hydrate my skin even more, I do get noticeable benefits without irritation despite my age and dry, sensitive skin and suspect I would have seen even a bigger difference if I had this to use when my skin was starting to show signs of aging and dryness. Like it. 4 stars. I have actually been using this serum on and off for a few years, previously it was called the motioning dew concentrate. So when I had a chance to try out this newly packaged and renamed option I figured why not!?!? This philosophy hope in a jar biome-balance glow serum comes in a dropper style container that is simple and luxe looking. The serum itself seams to be identical in consistency to the one in the previous packaging that I really liked. It isn’t greasy or sticky at all and it absorbs into your skin very well and rather quickly. It also doesn’t leave a file on your face and does not pill either. And bonus points, it plays well with all of my other skincare! It left my face feeling plump and hydrated and ready for my moisturizer. Overall I’m still a fan!

This serum looked very watery but stays on the skin more than I expected. I like it on my neck where it’s sensitive and dry, but more than anything I have scars that ends up looking like wrinkles. It’s pretty hopeless that that’s ever going away but “hope in a jar” brand made me want to give it a run anyways. It’s surprisingly thick post application and I can feel it on the skin. I think this is a good one for where you want a bit of intense rescue, and not for those with little need for the boost.

I liked this serum. I use it after taking shower because my face skin feels so dry after taking shower. This serum hydrates my skin instantly and leaves a soft, hydrated feeling. My skin absorbs the serum pretty quickly and responds to the serum very well. The serum is not thick, it is almost like water. I would recommend it.

This serum is perfect if your skin needs a good boost of hydration! During the winter my skin always gets super dry and this serum helped it feel hydrated while providing a nice glow. The scent it's very light, which is something I I truly appreciate in skincare, and lightweight, so it layers really well underneath my daily moisturizer. This serum comes in a nice glass dropper bottle and is very watery-like in texture. It’s super light and applies non-sticky and absorbs/dries fairly quickly. During the time I tested this product, I did not use my regular vitamin C or hyaluronic acid products. I love skincare, so I have many different products that I use different times of the day/week and I often have many steps to my skincare routine… so, by adding this to my current regimen I did not notice any difference in my skin. this stuff is amazing all around! I'm always looking for something to make my face not only feel great but look amazing also! that's exactly what this amazing product did for me and my skin! Is going to be one of my new go to products! I can feel that it sinks into my skin and keeps me hydrated all day long. I will be purchasing this in the future because I can’t see myself not using. I would recommend to anyone looking for some hydration for their skin.

This serum comes in a nice glass dropper bottle and is very watery-like in texture. It's super light leaving no sticky or greasy residue. This serum is perfect if your skin needs a good boost of hydration! During this time of the year, my skin always gets dry and looks dull. This serum helped it feel hydrated while providing a nice glow. It sinks in my face very nicely and makes my skin feels nourished and moisturized. I used it two times a day for the last few days and it made such a difference. I've been impressed from day 1 of using this product and couldn't live without it now. My skin feels so much smoother and definitely looks brighter too.

The scent of this is just amazing. It is subtle and clean, addicting, really, and it fits the product so well. The glass bottle and eyedropper is also very nice, keeping the serum safe and controlled and the eyedropper application prevents waste/using too much. The formula is genuinely the best serum formula I have come across. The serum is a clear consistency with normal to medium thickness, not sticky or runny & dries within 1-2 minutes. I've had no issues with the product peeling when used with my moisturizers or sunscreen.

I was amazed to see the price for this tiny serum. But once I started using it. It actually felt why they were charging this price. This is one of those things which will actually show instant results and you will feel the difference. When I apply this serum. I don’t feel the need to put a primer and a facial serum separately. This is a really hydrating and nourishing face serum. It literally just gives you a moisturized skin.

Philosophy products are often written about in beauty blogs and articles and so even if you have not tried any of their products it is probably a name you have heard of. This serum is called Hope in a Jar which sounds lovely and the information says that skin is instantly hydrated, glowing and smooth. All of this sounds good but, of course, the proof is in the serum! I followed the instructions and pressed into my skin, as opposed to smoothing it across the face, and found this to be a really good method. I do not think I have ever used a serum so lightweight as this, as after you have applied it you can hardly feel it until you touch your skin and then it feels noticeably smooth. It has a nice fragrance which is not that strong. It is great to use when you are in a hurry as there is no hanging around until it dries a bit before you apply moisturiser. I would not say that it made my skin look particularly bright but I did like the way my skin felt softer and prepped for moisturising. I intend to use this more in summer as I think winter would require a more intensive serum, but I think the lightweight texture will feel nicer in the warmer months. I have to be honest and say I think it is a little pricey for what it actually is. It is a nice serum but I have used equally nice serums that are over £10 cheaper. Having said that, I do like the serum and I think it really depends on your skin type as to whether this is a middle of the range or a top ranking product.
