Fixed my very cracked Yakima Skybox 16
Wish I took photos, I bought a Yakima Skybox 16 for $40, it was a mess. 7 Cracks all over it. They ran it into a low parking garage and had duct tape all over it. I bought this and the fiberglass cloth rather than the kit because you get more, and its a little cheaper. Also the fiberglass cloth I read is way better than the batting you get in the kit. This stuff and the cloth completely sealed all the cracks and I then drove it 1,500 on a ski trip at 80 miles an hour, no issues whatsoever... The place we stayed had an industrial garage door that came down on top of it and protected my car, damaged another part of my Yakima but this stuff held just fine on the original cracks. Will be using it again to make that repair. Mixing and Applying: I mixed it in a cleaned up cottage cheese or sour cream cup. What I did first is figured out how much I wanted to make by reading the label and then filling the cup with water and using a black marker to mark the spot on the outside of the cup to see how much resin I would need to put in. This way I could get the hardener drops correct with the ratio of resin. I think I did 1.5 cups of resin with 50 drops of hardener, this was a month ago, sorry. I know I did like 10 more hardener drops than it told me to the second time I used it because it was weak the first time. I then mixed it with a wood paint stir for 1 min. That may be excessive, but I went way to fast the first time I did it and it seamed that for some parts the hardener did not get dispersed well and took 48 hours to cure. I did it in a garage at ~55 degrees F. I was able to do 8 feet total of cracks, 6 inches wide with the fiberglass cloth with about 1.5 cups of resin in about 10 min and it did not set up that fast. I used up all of the 1.5 cups on this run. 12 hours later it was set almost everywhere, few tiny spots still wet, 24 hours, completely set. I used a 99 cent paint brush and threw it and the sour cream cup away when I was done. Yakima Specific instructions: Plenty of instructions out there on YouTube of how to do it. Be sure to watch those, use wire to hold the cracks together, and use duck tape on the outside to build a barrier/wall for the resin to push against and overlap when you have a crack that goes all the way to an edge. Use a razor blade to cut it away later. Just watch 3-4 videos and you will see what I am talking about. The rivet holes on the Yakima Skybox 16 are 3/16ths. Get a very sharp quality bit and pop them quick, if they get hot by spinning, it will start to melt the plastic, you don't want that. If you use a smaller bit it wont be thick enough to break the rivet and you will spin the rivet and the plastic will melt. Once I figured out it was 3/16ths, it made popping the rivets a lit easier. I replaced with 3/16"(diameter) x 5/8" (long) black rivets I bought in a box of 500 that came in 12 different sizes on amazon.

Fantastic product made poly tank repair quick and easy!
This was my first experience with fiberglass. I purchased the Bondo/3M glass mat also. I followed the instructions and it worked like a charm! I have a 300 gal poly tank on my spray rig that had developed a crack and a hole where a rock or some object had gotten under the mounting pad and punched a hole. I carefully sanded the entire contact area where the tank mounts and wiped it down with acetone. I put two layers of mat down, allowing it to cure over night and it looks great! A new tank would have cost me close to $800, this kit with the mat was around $25. Definitely would do it again and I highly recommend it!

Does the job.. sealed and repairs large hole and crack
This stuff is strong and does a fabulous job. My tub had a weak spot it in the middle of the tub floor. It finally busted and cracked. I was afraid I was going to have to spend thousands to have to replace it. But found this and it sealed it right up and it’s stronger than ever. I had to go to hardware store to get some of that mesh stuff though as it doesn’t come with it. And just to be extra safe and provide some extra coverage, after I used this to repair and seal the crack and hole, I also covered it with “North American Polymer Company Ltd. Tub/Shower Repair, 16 In WX36 In L, White” No leaks.. works perfect.

Great product for a great price
I had a problem with my bathtub and shower, I had a crack, the cost to replace the whole bathtub and shower unit was close to 1800 period. I bought Bondo glass short Strand, Bondo Fiberglass Resin Bondo All-Purpose Putty, and Bondo Fiberglass Cloth Bondo Glass, Short Strand Reinforced Fiberglass Filler. I followed the instructions that’s available on YouTube and I applied to each one of them in the proper sequence Then I applied the primer paint and final paint. I was able to fix the defect. The total cost is $126 for everything. They saved me more than $1400. The only small problem that I had at the final coat of paint does not match the rest of the bathtub color. I highly recommend these products. If you use them try to follow the instructions that’s written on the item from outside exactly. Try to be patient with sanding. Make sure that each layer is sanded properly before you move to the next coat. I also had a ceramic tile that was broke. Instead of replacing it, I applied the same materials and got good result Please see the attached pictures. Thank you.

Can Leaking Resin From Cap On Delivery
This is an excellent product. However, the cap was not tight enough to keep the resin from leaking out; made quite a mess on delivery, and clean up was necessary. This is a non-returnable item, so just beware of having clean-up issues when you receive the product.

Worked great for laying up fiberglass to repair a Dually fender.
A little goes a long way. I first mixed a 3 ounce batch and it began to cure with less than an ounce used. Lesson learned. The rest of the job was done in 1 ounce batches and I never ran out resin. (The damage was only about six square inches.) I was able to lay three layers of fiberglass cloth before each batch began to cure. It wet sanded easily with 320 grit wet or dry paper. It was sure convenient to get it through Amazon.

Instant repairs!
Great stuff. I always use with the fiberglass mat, too. Good to have on hand. Strong odor..wear a respirator..NOT a dust mask.
